iPhone Integration in Cooper S

Hi all,

My girlfriend is picking up an 07 Cooper S Works on Sunday morning and I was just wondering whether the OEM iPod adapter that you can have fitted by Mini/BMW is compatible with the iPhone?

Are there any better solutions out there? I must admit I do like the idea of the adapter charging the phone and also being able to control the iPod/iPhone from the stereo/steering wheel buttons. Also the iPhone would be well out of the way in the glovebox.

I've been quoted £470 for fitment by my local authorised Mini centre - does that sound about right?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks

James

I think it should be. Im looking into it as at the moment im having to use the dock that comes with it as i used to use my iPod through the aux cable but the socket is recessed in the iPhone so you have to use iPod head phones and cont find an aux cable to fit grrrrr

My dealer warned me away from the dealer-fit iPod thingy. Said it's a ***** to install (most of the cost is labour) and full of bugs. Apparently its got to the stage where their workshop is refusing to do it!

Yes, prices should be around 250-300 or something (that's what I remember anyway.

Got one fitted last week for £250 because they cocked some other stuff up. It works great but I do get the occasional zizzing from the back of the dash now....
