Newbie with a couple of questions

Hey folks,

Will be picking up my new 08 plate Cooper S on Thursday and just got a couple of questions which have probably been asked before (I did try searching - honest!).

1) How many 12V sockets does the mini have?

2) I was originally going to order the Hi-Fi speaker system but didn't in the end. Will I regret this or is the standard system decent enough - bearing in mind I am coming from a Lexus GS with a stonking 14 speaker Mark Levinson suround sound system!

Thanks in advance,
DJA.

I think having browsed rather than searched the forums I have found the answer to question 2. Seems I perhaps should have specified it afterall. Oh well, will just need to listen to the engine instead!

There is somebody called Mikey on here who fits some nice systems into cars, you should have a chat with him!

Thanks Fergus, might take up your offer if the standard boost system turns out to be as bad as it sounds from comments on here.

Cheers.

The std BOOST system is shocking - My standard 03 Fiesta and '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Infinity Gold systems are miles better. Stick the window down and just drive - You'll forget it straight away listening to the engine and the exhausts on the over-run. Welcome to MINI2 by the way - Best of luck with your S

is there a cig lighter in the boot? or glove box? I plan to fit a hard drive to the car for my music that runs on a 12volt plug

Yes, I'm quite disappointed by the standard boost radio. Whilst I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near the standards of my previous system, I cannot believe BMW expects you to pay what you have to pay for a Mini and gives you a crap system too.

2x 12v sockets pretty sure, one at the back inside the boot and the other at the front like other cars.
