Hifi upgrade aftermarket options

I am fed up with the hifi 'upgrade' even after a year of not having the HK. I don't want to change the head unit, I don't particularly want the dash taken off/ apart. Are there any options Mikey that actually make a difference given the constraints I mention? All I want is Trentemoeller at a reasonable volume that doesn't make the car sound like a bluebottle. It is not a Corsa.

Having also had my car a year now I swear the quality is getting worse... I used to be happy with the upgrade but now the speakers buzz really badly even at moderate volumes, theres no depth to the sound! I have no idea whats going on but Im very interested in the answers to what Jumbomini has asked

thanks yes have seen the website but it all seems to relate to upgrading boost rather than if you have the hifi upgrade fitted - I was told (like many) when i ordered it that it was 'better' than the HK in my old MCS - I guess by better they mean 'better margin for BMW'.

Can I get away with a speaker upgrade - I don't want the dash fiddled with.

Anyone out there with experience of just doing this?

Take a look on northamericanmotoring.com, some owners there have changed the speakers for Infinity models, Kappas I think.

It sounds like it would be a good idea to get the multimeter out and work out how the multiconnector on the upgrade amp is connected? The we could try to make a jumper harness to a conventional aftermarket amp?

Another thought I've got at the moment is a bit of Dynamat around the place, I noticed that the doors certainly transmit a lot of noise outwards which is a waste and poss prevents the door acting as a decent speaker enslosure??

If you already have the hifi then we dont have to strip the dash
Although many people have reported existing rattles dissapearing once we have stipped their dash
When we do our job we also add sound deadening

Once I rec'd everything I found out that I didn't need the Rockford Fosgate amp, since the Subwoofer has one already built in. Also I was able to return the item easy!!

One thing the Infinity Subwoofer will take half of the trunk space.. LOL
