Hi Mikey,

I have installed my stereo equipment but when the stereo is turned off there is a buzzing noise coming from the speakers. What causes this?

Help me asap.

Is this with the key off?
Is it still there after 30 mins with the door shut?

It is when driving along and the stereo is turned off and when the side lights are on and the car is switched off.

it goes when car is locked and when lights are off. but still there when driving with stereo off.

What amp are you using?

iv got a sony xplode 1200 watt amp running a sub and a 500 watt amp running the front speakers and new rear speakers. It is buzzing i would say but does change.

Is the buzzing coming from the sub & speakers?

ye i think its coming from all but can mainly hear the speakers

Firstly check you have a good earth for the amps (where are the amps?)
then make sure your phono cables are away from any other wires (power for the amps & car wiring loom)

Hi Mikey,

The amps are both located in the boot and i have just moved the earch point to one that is behind the rear quater panel. The phone cables run down the righ hand side of the car and in to the boot and the front speaker wires and power cables and remote run down the left and side.
