Offline | I'm looking for an ipod interface for my R56, and I like the look of this. How is it attached to the dash? Does it just use self adhesive pads that come with the kit. I don't want to drill any holes in my dash front. Also, how does it connect to the ipod? Is it via the 3.5mm headphone jack, or via the port on the bottom of the ipod? Sorry, lots of questions, but I will be ordering this from uk, as these kits are $299 over here , so I want to be sure, as I won't be able to take it back.Life's fun in black and white |

Offline | Hey got mine all sorted, really pleased with it but one thing bothers me.... I thought the bass was very weak. So having a look at this afternoon, if you plug the phono cable from the unit and move it to the headphone out on the iPod, the sound is dramatically better! Anyone else found this? http://www.supermega.co.uk MINI Cooper R50 CR/W - Sept 06 - Oct 07 MINI Cooper R56 PW/B - Oct 07 - .... |

Offline | I have thins kit in my R50 Cooper and got it installed by a local ICE specialist, as I was a little unsure whether I would be capable of doing it. Had to order an Aux In cable from Mikeythemini as they couldn't hard wire it in for me at the garage. Fitted the cable myself (took me a little while, but I got there in the end). I reckon, even with my limited ability, even I could have installed the kit myself in the first place and saved myself a bit of cash. There are plenty of DIY threads on here with all the info you need to get the job done really. May just take you a little while and a lot of patience. |

Offline | If you are interested I could make up a hideaway loom for the product you have here - power & a aux in connector so you dont need to plug a jack into the aux socket |

| MINI2 Regular | Hi Mike, that sounds really cool and useful but i haven't got a clue what you're talking about I'm only considering this HK thing because i can use it's toggle thing like an ipod but a lot safer while i'm driving but the only thing holding me back is installing the darn thing... ... if i can hide away all the cables and avoid using the aux in and dreaded cig lighter socket then that would be seriously great! how much will your thingy cost me? Also, any help with installing the whole thing at all? (bit cheeky really i know but i seriously need some help with my r56 ).Many thanks Mike ![]() Last edited by anzzyde : Jun 29th, 2008 at 10:52 PM. Reason: another question |
