Offline | MP3 Question Having some minor issues with the MP3-CD player in my One; namely that it very rarely (but does occasionally) seems to remember the position of the track I'm listening to if I get out of the car, then back into it later. A love of prog rock and a reasonably short drive to work has led to me listening to the same song all week, and it's now annoying! The same thing seems to happen with the button to turn it onto random - it just forgets it has ever been pressed. Any easy fix? |

Offline | That isn't the problem; sometimes if I start the car it will remember where I am in the track, most of the time it will start it from the beginning. No issues with randomness (it's a MP3 CD with probably a few hundred tracks on, so the probability of starting with the same track every time I start the car would be tiny )The issue with randomness is separate - namely that the car 'forgets' it is in Random mode every time it is started. |

Offline | I've noticed the same thing. It only happens if the car has been left for a while - say a few hours. If you leave car for a short period of time (5/10 minutes) the track will resume from the last position. Don't think it's a fault, it just the way the headunit works. 2007 Pepper White/Black - MINI Cooper D ![]() Complete with Go Faster 'Bonnet' Stripes! |

Offline | I discovered a work-around by accident: Pressing the volume knob in to stop the track will keep it in position on the track. I burn lots of podcasts to CD and pressed the volume knob in to stop a long track just before turning off the car when coming home. My wife was the one to start the car the next morning, so her keyfob triggered her radio station to play. After dropping her off at work, I started the car again unmuted the stereo and ended up right back where I was in the middle of my hour-long podcast the night before. |

| MINI2 Regular | Sorry if this is a little off topic but am a bit excited by the thought of the car putting a different station on for a different key fob! Totally passed me by. Is this a standard programmable function or do you need something fancy like satnav or comfort access? Cheers |

Offline | I believe it is the Chili pack that gives you a 'second key fob'. A number of settings (radio, airco, wiper speed if I am not mistaken) are kept in the key fob, so if two people share the car, the settings will be your own. |
