| Hmmmmm | JCW seats for R56 - opinions/price? When I bought my 08 'S' JCW in March I purposefully left it with the standard cloth sports seats, with a view to maybe upgrading to the JCW seats in the future. I've found it hard to find decent reviews of these and some people seem to like them and some seem not to. So I thought I'd ask here. Undecided on whether I'd want the leather or cloth ones at present but interested in opinions as to what they are like on long-ish journeys, and how much the current price is. Once I get a general feeling as to opinion I can decide if I want to save up for them - then it would be good to track down a local car that has them to have a better look. Can anyone who has lived with them for a while give an objective opinion please and an estimate of what the current best price would be? Thanks! ![]() 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works |

Offline | This would also be very useful for me, as i am considering them for my JCW, and if i do go with them, i will need to spec the standard cloth seats. Any advice much appreciated: Specific questions: - Do the alcantara ones become glossy? - Will the leather on the leather ones sag (as i noticed it does on the lounge leather standard seats) or are these higher quality? (PS sorry astilla to hijack your thread!) |

Offline | The leather wears on the side bolsters (now have 32000 miles on them), the leather does not sag very much. they are by far the best seat i have ever had in a car (includes old R53 sports recaros, audi sports, etc). you need to get the dealer to set them up in situ as they are adjustable for height but with fixed bolts. |

| MINI2 Newbie | i think the jcw's are fantastic seats although they do wear on the bolsters (leather). Having sat on MkV Golf Gti leather seats, BMW 5 series std leather seats, S2000 leather, Mark IV Golf GTI leather recaro's the JCW's are by the far the most comfortable seats so far. I've only done about 7k in mine though and treated it twice since i got it. no idea about the alcantara ones though!! and unfortunately once fitted they aren't easily height adjustable.....hope this helps. ![]() |

| Hmmmmm | Yes, they are a bit steep but I could be tempted once I have tried a car with them in to see if I like them. It's a bit of a moot point at the moment as the Mini in in the bodyshop after being clobbered by a big white lorry that didn't see me in his blind spot... :-( 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works |
