I've read about people asking what the 'GONG' is on their tone settings, and the answer from others is that it is the option to adjust the volume of the warning tone that sounds when fuel is low, when temp falls to 3ºC, etc. 'GONG' doesn't appear on my tone settings on my Nov '06-build MCS. Does anyone know if this feature was part of a software upgrade, and if the upgrade can be applied to early models?

Don.t know about the upgrade!
But I do know I wished you could switch the damn thing off!!

On my 08 build it goes off for everything belts, doors open, lights, temp change, dinners ready ok not dinners ready but you get the idea!!
This is the sort of thing they have in the US (the noise that drove Clarkson mad)!! I agree with Clarkson about this.!.....You can't even reverse after taking your belts off without BONG! BONG !BONG! BONG! going through your favourite track!!!!

can you change this on the Sat nav equiped cars. I dont have the Gong option under tome sttings Mine in a Jan 08 cooper s?

Where abouts in the menus is this option??

The bong in my April 07 R56 is different to one that was bult about the same week, but that has sat nav.

Is it in an option to be able to change the tone and volume??
