Okay then, which ipod connection is the one to go for?

I am on my 3rd mini now and both of my previous cars have had Dension Ice-Link fitted by MikeytheMini. I believe that this is not an option on the R56?

I don't really fancy the Mini Ipod Connector as it does not have enough flexibility in what you can play, 6 playlists is pretty poor!

So, what are the options then, over to you guys???

How much does the HK drive & play cost? I assume it needs professional fitting?

My HK was just under £30, and I fitted it myself. Simple to do (theres a guide to removing the head unit on the DIY/FAQ section), simply connects to the rear of the head unit using either the aux input or fm modulator.

A couple of of us on here have the set up, just search and you should get some pictures/info etc,

Anything else feel free to ask.

We can supply & fit an icelink lite - this is a no holes bracket, active charging cradle which sends the audio into the aux socket in the radio. Control is done on the ipod

We do have a gateway 500 for full control of the ipod and will soon be able to fit this oncve we have the programming tool to get around the Mini software
