Hi all,

Trying to help a friend install the JCW gear knob in his MCS, but we are having trouble removing the gaiter and silver trim ring from the car. We have the official instructions and some I found on a blog that basically just says pull it up...

However its not shifting. We can't feel how the ring is connected, are there are any tabs to push or pull or screws involved?

We can't progress without removing the gaiter.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I think it is held on via plastic tabs.

Indeed it was, we managed to pull it straight up eventually but thanks for the post.
