NE1 fitted new speakers to the standard stereo without using an amp?

im thinking of putting either just new front component speakers or rear speakers without using an amp and connecting straight to the stereo.

i just want to know if anyone has done this and if so are there any improvements and whether its worth doing?

Think you have to watch what rating, as in Ohm rating the speaker are...they are not standard.

There are ones available from NewMINIStuff.com along with just an amp and rear speakers upgrades...and of course the whole upgrade. Mikey would probably be best to tell you how good the stages of upgrade would be.

I would guess anything will be an improvement on the standard setup.

I dont know if you will get much more speaker power by just changing the components? as the signal will still be the same, to see any improvements i think you are going to have to use an amp.
