Interesting to note (courtesy of Motoring File) that the new Mini cabriolet (R57) has an auxillary gauge mounted next to the tachometer. See second pic here. Its purpose (showing the driver the amount of time the top's been down) is admittedly a bit daft, but I can't help wondering if there might be an alternative offered (which would also fit the R56), such as coolant temp. Thoughts anyone?

Yeah, was aware of after-market versions, but my preference would be for OEM if possible. Aux gauges were available for the Gen 1, but I'd heard that MINI were not intending [initially] to do them for the Gen 2. Maybe still the case.

then yu need teh chrono pack as that has additional pod on steering wheel and guages in big speedo i think
