Offline | Ordering a Factory JCW I have a 2005 JCW. My dealer says they are now taking order for the new factory ones with delivery expected early 2008. Is this right? |

Offline | Those on here with their ears to the ground say that March 08 is the best guess at the moment; so if your dealer is taking orders, why not put your money down? Guess you would be amongst the first. Personally will prob hang on to present MCS for twelve months after launch as have a low mileage, then, provided there aren't revolutions in all oil producing countries and the motor insurance industry doesn't flip its lid, I too will prob go for it ![]() "I get by with a little help from my friends" |

| What's Next? | They have no definite information about when the 'full' JCW will be available, they just want you to commit to an order (and a big deposit!) now to stop you buying elsewhere. Considering how short the waiting lists are for new MINIs now I can see no reason why you need to be placing an order for something now when neither you nor your dealer know anything about the car. If it was me, I'd keep an eye on the News section here, and then order a car when you know what it's actually going to be, rather than just putting your name on an order slot. |

| Syd | My (life) partner ordrered an R56 Cooper S on 2 March 2007. It was ordered with "John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit" - the only JCW bits then available. The "sound Kit" featured elsewhere in this Forum may be added dealer-fit later on. The good news today is that the car will be ready for delivery this week - ie by 30 March, an excellent performance on lead time (considering my first R50 JCW210 was ordered in April and delivered September!). The bad news is that the Aero Kit is delayed (by ? 2 weeks), due to not "being in production", "new" etc. Is this a porky, covering up that they didn't order it? (as the same dealer did with the one on my June 06 R50 JCW210) and do they just want the sale in the March figures? That would be taking the pee. I fail to see how Aero Kits are advertised, orders taken and cannot be delivered. I appreciate that the photos of the R56 on the JCW bit of the MINI website are probably photo shopped, but a bit of honesty wouldn't go amis! Anyone know the truth about Aero Kits for R56? | What's Next? | Pre-painted Aero Kits have been delayed since last November, although most colours are now available for dealers to order from MINI. Primed kits have always been available, although these are less popular as they work out more expensive and some have experienced poor quality paintwork. There are a number of threads about/incorporating this subject, so I'm surprised you are unaware. |

| Syd | Thank you so much for putting me in my place. Regretably, I do not have the time (or frankly the inclination) to endlessly surf this or other sites, for information, which should be available to people paying £20k+ for a car, as I have to work (quite hard) to fund said purchases. As I have (frequently) said - what about customer service? I would remind any manufacturer/dealer (sales or service) without us, they do not have jobs..................... As for factory produced kits, dammit, the sodding car has been in design and production for long enough, why can't you do your jobs properly? I REALLY wish there was a suitable alternative, because I would love to tell them to "poke it". UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE |

Offline | Scrogg was only answering your question, and the Aero Kit for the R56 has been and its availability has been discussed for the past 4/5 months in many different threads. Supplies are now becoming available, your lucky its only been delayed by 2 weeks, some folks have been waiting months for theirs! ![]() |

| Syd | OK - going back in my box now. Minded just to not ask any more questions, or make comment here. So far as I am concerned, at the time our car was ordered the brochure (6 11 056 101 21 (L) 2 2006, p83) and website offered the "John Cooper Works aerodynamic components." At no time during the order, or having placed it, did anyone say part of it may be delayed. For the record, this is our 4th MINI and the 4th delay, which currently range from 1 month (my last) to 6 months (my first). Having looked in and around this thread and not seen any conclusive comment (indeed, a lot of commentary about other things is contradictory), I asked an honest question. I then took Scrogg's comments as a put down, themselves containing no link/tangible guidance. If we are going to be anal and over sensitive, I can do it just as well as the next person................... Don't want to hear any more about this and am sick of the lack of proper information and basic customer service, which surrounds the MINI product. What we should be knowing is not where to look for yet more of the same, nor cosy and trite banter within a clique, but why the product is not available and when it is going to be UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE |

Offline | A quick visit to the '2nd Generation Exterior' forum reveals these threads.... http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-e...o-kit-bmw.html http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-e...-aero-kit.html http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-e...d-aerokit.html http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-e...-aero-kit.html I hope there is enough information there to satisfy your curiosity. ![]() |

| Syd | Yeah! Because I bloody love them! I have had a 1972 Aston V8, 1986 M5, various 325s, Janspeeded Range Rovers and a Subaru Imprezza Turbo (before I grew up). OK some were faster (a lot ) but nothing touches the MINI "smile factor" (not present whilst "wating......................").UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE |

| What's Next? | Says it all really! Is it really beyond your comprehension that anyone could actually be helping?Apart from the direct and accurate answer to your question, you mean? ![]() So far, you are the only one that has been either of these. Which will be what you state to have had neither the time nor inclination to do. Proves how easy it is though, doesn't it? |

| Syd | Point taken. Unqualfied apologies for any offence taken. Should have realised none was intended - that's what the stress of ordering a new MINI does for you!! When can I have a "proper" JCW R56, then? What will a "proper JCW R56 be like? Can't see any point in parting with a deposit, just yet..............(or should I get a JCW 225 upgrade for my R50 JCW210, or MTH remap, plus lightened flywheel, Alta intercooler and cat-back exhaust? But I guess that fs the warranty/TLC? Or should I just order a Lotus Exige S?) UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE |
