What Will the New One be Called?

Do you think there might be a name change? To say something like, Works Cooper S or Works Cooper? As of course John Cooper Garages are no longer involved...

As far as I've understood there aren't going to be any namechanges for the near future.
Cooper S Works is my guess.

John Cooper Garages have been bought out by BMW, so it's not like they tried to kill off a 3rd party tuner, they simply wanted to bring all the work in-house, including legal right to making use of the name.

They weren't involved in the last one, but didn't stop it being called John Cooper Works

So why buy the name and then change what the car is called?

Its only a forum you know!

more than likely, far better to own it in house rather than paying a license fee/royality fee

But you wouldn't buy Nike and then change it to Mike, so it will probably stay the same

Scotland

I think it's a shame that BMW bought out JCW as visited dealer in East Preston when on holiday and they showed me round, they also had a place in Croydon i belevie to do cars for the racing series. AS a BMW owner and soon to be MCS owner i think MIke Cooper did not want to invest in new bigger premises to meet BMW's plans for the future and got offer could not refuse, Still i think a run to the small JCW garage for some tweeks is way more fun than factory fit, well that's my opnion for what it's worth
