First post for a few years as I am coming back to the fold and taking delivery of a new S next wednesday.

I saw a cooper at Syntner Sunningdale with the JCW body kit on with the crown spoke 17" alloys. Thw wheels appeared to fill the arches quite well and the sales guy mentioned that there were wheel spacers as part of the kit and that is why the car looked so good.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Sounds like **** to me....the arches on the aero kit are the stock arches...all that the kit comprises of is the bumpers front and rear and side skirts....not arches and therefore the wheels fit exactly like on stock vehicle....plus a dealer would not have a wheel spacer ftted that was made by manufacturer! They mights have fitted some..but they'll be eibach or made up ones..not BMW part IMO

I am no expert but none of the R56 or R53 aero kitted cars i have seen are fitted with spacers on the wheels to fill the arch. Spacer increase load on various bit of the car and a manufacturer will not do anything to do this without building it better and stronger...eg making the hub on the car sit out further rather than slotting a spacer in...but like i said I'm no expert and you shouldn't go by just my thoughts.

Ask him to remove the rim and see if there is a spacer...bet there aint, or if there is its not got a BMW logo on it
