Offline | Had a drive of my dealers Works this afternoon and all in all was very impressed, it makes a lovely deep boom from the exhaust and it did feel faster than my standard S and would pull hard right up to the rev limiter. We followed a new shape Audi TT Quattro down a dual carriageway and on three different roundabouts the Mini would catch up pulling away from the roundabout, which is pretty impressive for a front wheel drive hatch on a damp road. Was really surprised as there was no torque steer as my S does seem to squirm around alot under hard acceleration, the only thing i can think of is that i know my dealer checked wheel allignment after they fitted the 18" wheels, maybe that's the answer to torque steer problems. Would a dealer check wheel allignment under warranty? Last edited by scone : Aug 18th, 2007 at 09:26 PM. |

Offline | My car does have a LSD ,but i don't know about the dealers car. It's louder when driven hard, but you would'nt notice any difference when driving normally. The demo car was averaging 31mpg which is the same as my car, which quite impressed me. |

| MINI2 Master | I test drove the new demo yesterday before it has the kit fitted tomorrow. This is the first R56 i've driven with the LSD. It was a soaking wet morning, and all i can say is i was AMAZED at how well it put the power down. The LSD makes a good improvement, highly recommended. I will test drive this car again next Saturday over the same route with the JCW Kit and R109's fitted. This demo had the Flame spokes and was averaging 30mpg. I reset this and did a good mixture of very hard driving country, city stop start and a bit of dual carriageway and i got 31mpg. This was an 07 spec without the stop/start feature. So i'm hoping mine will be better still, although this is way better than the 22mpg i average at present. Oh and the ride quality of the R56 amazes me everytime i drive it. Also with it being wet yesterday i could reach it's cornering limits easier and it turns in better than mine but still drifts very controllably........very well balanced. The ASC+T was also very good and intervened very smoothly and did not annoy me once. Well, it helps to pass the next two weeks ![]() Oh and when i finally pick my car up, i drive it 15 miles and let Polished Bliss have it for the day to work their magic.........................another day without it ![]() 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | Can you order this from the factory? Only reason i ask is I would love a JCW Stage 1 Cooper S for my next car, but that should be a company car. Which means i can only have it if its installed at the factory as an "option". ![]() Cheers ![]() |

Offline | Apparently one can negotiate on this price ![]() I know Menzies will do it for £1185 and Eastern will do it for £1215. I used these to get my dealer to fit mine this week for £1185. I'm sure Woodmans will do a great deal too once it's officially released. All a bit far from you but you can use them as bargaining points with local dealers. List price is £1463 inc. fitting ( parts only retail is £1090 ) fitting time 4 hours ( recommended ) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Too many freaks not enough circuses Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint and he has to touch it. |
