Offline | When I placed my order (3 weeks ago) the dealer categorically stated that there would be no engine upgrades this year. He even told me he had spoken to BMW that morning and it was still in development. Wish these guys would get themselves sorted!! And as you say.. I too am off to the dealer tomorrow to get it added to my order! (After I have kicked him down on price that is!) ...Mad |

Offline | Mozza, here is a link that plays the R56 Cooper S sound track Mini Cooper S Enjoy. Do the US R56 S cars sound like this? MINI, it is a way of life. |

![]() MINI2 Master | That sound track is wierd You hear the engine on the up and down ages before the exhaust reacts at the the out end, you can actually split the two frequencies on a digital display from an engine acceleration sound to the result coming from the exhaust on the screen, the spikes from throttle input to exhaust output are almost a third of a second apart. That says to me that theres a big obstruction somewhere to cause that amount of delay ![]() |

Offline | Thats strange i just saw yesterday a press release on one site don't ask me the one but recommended fitting time for stage 1 JCW kit 2 hours, by the way if the dealer tried that sort of price on me i would have cancled our car, I think they are trying it on like a lot of other dealers are at present with extra's we should have a thread to warn people of this unacceptable prices people are being quoted. |

| MINI2 Master | Well i got online quotes for the R56MCS & R53MCS R53MCS Works to try and figure this. The R56MCS was the same as my R53MCS, no difference whatsoever. So i got the quote for the R53MCS Works to give me a guide and it was about £45 extra. My quote for the MCS was about £380 IIRC. So for me about 10-15% extra. Hope this helps. ![]() 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

| in28ive | I don't Reckon there will be an official stage 2. BMW doesn't sell upgrades for its M3 or M5 "kits". Now they own JCW i reckon they will just sell a JCW (Mini) with all the bits and a larger capacity engine, maybe 1800. Perhaps squeeze a few more pounds out of the twin scroll, aggresively remap, water cool the IC, improve the fuel flow in the heads, tweak the cams, improve airflow around the bits that need to be cool etc.. Add to that better brakes and suspension and a few pretty bits. Reckon it'll be good for 180BHP. and about a AU$90,000 hole in your wallet. Good for re-sale though - if you col dever part with it! ![]() ![]() |
