Online | Wollaston Northampton installed kit 667 yesterday for the customary £1100. Great service with no hassles, though I was given dire warnings about not losing the software cd. Initial driving impressions are excellent, and as described earlier in the thread. Nice but not loud sound, and generally much livelier through the rev range (and it wasn't exactly sluggish before!). As a result there is no need to press the sport button every time the car is started. The only downside for me is the exhaust tips with their JCW writing, totally out of place on an otherwise 'stealth' car. Last edited by SeldomSeen : Oct 13th, 2007 at 07:58 AM. Reason: grammar |

Offline | Stage One Update (real world) I thought that their service was superb....could not be faulted at all and extremely good value for money. Mine is getting louder and like you, ive totally forgotten about the sport button. Downside is that ive lost about 3 mpg, when considering how im driving it is nothing short of extraordinary. It has more 'punch' and is very addictive and easy to get to the redline. In fact the car thrives on it. Many wont believe this but for general driveability its more fun than the TVR used to be because to tell you the truth, apart from top speed it doesnt feel much slower and its certainily easier and more fun to drive. I have a 7 mile drive everyday down a lovelly B road with plenty of twists and bends. The standard car was more than i had hoped for but this is altogether a different story. Firstly im not just saying this, ive got nothing to prove as i drive T5 Volvos and Beamers at work regularly exceeding the speed limits in the fight against crime so i think im level headed in that respect. Secondly im certainly not one to use speed inappropriately but driving this is sooo much fun. It is responsive in every gear, no matter what the revs etc. In short, the kit hasnt given it too much more power or torque but what it has given it is a sort of leg up onto the next level. If you are in any doubt, go for it, especially if you get it at a cheaper price, youve got absolutely nothing to lose but stand to gain an awaful lot. ![]() |

Offline | Had a letter yesterday from Mini regarding the JCW Stage 1 Tuning Kit offering it for £1,095.00 including VAT, but excludes fitting costs. The Kit seems very expensive for an Air Filter, Exhaust System, a few Badges and a CD to flash the ECU. The increase in performance is approx' 10% which is good, and is all covered under the Mini warranty. The feedback from the threads above are mostly positive from those who have the kit, and I must admit I am tempted ![]() However, the sensible and frugal part of me thinks it's a lot of money for what you get, and Mini must get a high profit % for supplying it. There are probably a number of other after-market kits from other suppliers that are as good or better for a lot less money, but would not be covered under warranty ![]() |

Offline | Happy with mine so far. The ECU flash sure flattened out the power delivery. That valley around 3000 RPM used to be my only complaint. It's all but gone, now. My boy won't stay away, either. ![]() I've had the last few days to play. Did a local winery run with the wifey & the MINI club. Two more days off before it's back to work... but the weather is taking a turn for the worse. ![]() Founding member of R56 Anonymous: "Hello. My name is Mike. | MINI2 Master | Lovin mine too. Don't know whether it's because i've got more miles on it now or because the weather is cooler, but boy does it fly. More amazing though is the traction, whether it's the 18" Bridgestones or the LSD or the smoother torque delivery but it puts the power down very well. Better than the std MCS on 17's i think. Dealer told me yesterday, that after not thinking the demo JCW was 'that fast' had a play with a colleague in the demo while he was in his Civic type R. He said his colleague absolutely blew him away, some of this due to better traction. 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

![]() JCW Fitted | I finally got to test drive the JCW conversion down at Woodmans this afternoon and what a afternoon it was had the car for an hour, and it was fantastic to drive I ended up taking it back after 30mins because there was hardly any petrol left and i didn't want to leave Alison with no petrol. Also could not belive how many rattles was coming from the car. I would recommend this conversion to anyone it was fantastic the feeling and the handling of the car the noise of the turbocharger and the look people where giving me, one guy even put his window down to talk to me at the lights ,the exhaust sounded great. I was like a kid a Christmas and i could of kept driving all day. Just cant wait to get the JCW conversion fitted just not sure on weather to get 17" alloys or 18s Last edited by JG02JSG : Oct 21st, 2007 at 08:23 PM. |
