| MINI2 Master | Not that i am overly bothered but none the less it's unexpected. What is everybody getting on a long run ?. In 2500 miles i have averaged 32.2MPG ( OBC ) and this is mainly city / shortish trips ( 6miles ) together with longer trips at the weekends. On the longer trips i don't believe i'm getting more than 38-40MPG sat at 75MPH for 60-120 mile trips. I put this down to it being tight on run in. I did 300 miles at the weekend and upped my OBC to 32.6MPG. Now this means i was getting no more than 38MPG. MINI state 55mpg, and although i don't expect to get this i for sure usually getter closer than this on all my previous cars. Anybody else have this issue ?. Oh, other than that this car is truely eye wateringly good ![]() 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | I've got just under a 1000 miles on the clock so far, you think it will get better or worse for that matter? Mind you it's better than what I used to get out of my Cooper! maybe it's my driving. |

Offline | Where does MINI state this? All the literature I've seen state c45mpg for the MCS on a combined cycle - only for extra urban does is state 54.9 to see this you'll have to cycle through the obc to view actual mpg not your average. The actual shows metrics for that exact moment in time. The book figures are to be taken with a pinch of salt - car was probably being driven at below the legal limit on mostly flat terrain at a test centre or even that might just be the engine bench result - Just like how many car makers state the bhp the engine made on the bench - no in the car. Offline | If your concerned about MPG then don't break the speed limit! My early R56 did 40MPG doing 2 30 mile trips per week day mainly at 70MPH and shorter trips at weekends. With the Works kit it now does 41-42MPG. Could probably extend that a bit driving more gently round the twisties but thats no fun is it. Doesn't look like the fuel saving measuers Mini added amounted to much? |
