Offline | Yes it should be ready in a day, one or two people have had problems having there ECU reprogrammed and it's ran over, but if all goes well you'll have it in a day. |

Offline | Yep, the ECU reprogramming can be hit and miss it seems. When I got mine done it took ages to update the software and then the air conditioning didn't work so had to make a trip back to the dealer to get it sorted. Just check everything is working ok before you leave the dealer. |

Offline | I'll get the car to my dealer tomorrow to have it installed. I'll check everything before leaving. Can get the spare parts that are going to be removed from the car? I have only done 400km and they are in as new condition thanx |

Offline | Does anyone know what the final CO2 reading is for the stage 1 kit? Looking at a new company car & playing the co-car taxation game; Std S with everything vs Stage 1 Works with fewer toys vs Factory Works in July with slightly less again! The only bit of data I cant track down is the stage 1 emissions. My dealer in Maidenhead kept telling me the stage 1 kit is 210bhp, so have given in even talking to them!! ![]() Thanks Matt |

Offline | The emissions for the stage 1 tuning kit remain the same as the standard S. I was talking to my dealer this morning about the factory car and she thought the first deliveries would be in September. |

Offline | Thanks Scone, I'm truly surprised by that - I can't understand how you can extract more from the engine without it producing more CO2 from the rear. Even if it is more, there is a chance it might work out the same given the kit is fitted at the dealers, and V11D (think thats the correct form?!) is based on the emissions as it leaves the factory. Having said that, after adding options to both choices of works tune, I need to decide if the factory option is worth the extra £45 per month in tax vs a similarly extra'd up stage 1. |

Offline | I don't think that's correct, I have an early R56 without the fuel saving features and I looked into this when I purchased the kit. I seem to remember it did increase the emissions slightly, but this wouldn't change the road tax as that is only concerned with the emissions of the car from the factory. The later model with fuel saving technology had lower emissions standard, so I would assume the same is still true if not more so. |

Offline | Yes that's correct, the new Mini's with start/stop fuel saving are now in a lower road tax bracket since the new budget was announced So it will depend on whether or not you have this. |

Offline | I have to be honest in all the press releases for the tuning kit I never saw any mention of increased emissions, but as for tax purposes there is definately no increase as it is dealer fitted. Mini did claim there was no increase in fuel consumption, does anyone know if no extra fuel would mean there was no extra carbon emissions. |

Offline | Correct me if I'm wrong but any Mini including the 'S' that has start/stop function will be paying £25 a year less road tax as a result of the recent budget. I am not sure if this applies to diesel models. |

Offline | Just took delivery of my JCW Stage I Cooper S. Everything was working properly at the dealer, but as soon as I left the dealership I noticed that the auto start/stop function was not working. I contacted the dealer again and they said that I should try it a bit more and she if it works when it gets warmer, otherwise take it back to them tomorrow. Performance-wise I noticed an improvement in responsiveness and a faster acceleration overall. any comments on the auto start/stop not working are more than acceptable thanx |

Offline | Don't worry about it for now. Various things can prevent the start/stop system from working, engine too cold, outside air temp too cold, battery below certain amount of charge, etc. Mine has rarely worked since January, but does occasionally, normally on longer runs in warmer temperatures. Chris. |

Offline | Yeh lots of things stop the stop/start function working:
Having said that battery charge shouldn't be a massive problem. Sometimes I spend days just in traffic with the engine auto switched off, with the headlights on main beam, radio/CD on etc - and I never get a problem. |
