| Syd | Oh - bugger!! Having driven my partner's R56 MCS, it does feel, in an unscientific way, as fast as my R53 JCW210. I suspect that this is a feature of torque and the excellent power delivery of the new engine. Would also have to agree that it is a much more refined, "grown-up" car, but somehow not as exciting and involving as the "old" one. As to the "burble", I love the pops and crackles of my 210, but it does sound tinny. I hope an Alta 2.5" would sort that.......(?) The R56 sounds a lot better, more powerful and it crackles, as well. Looking forward to trying the R56 JCW stage 1! PS one contributor did say "if your R53 is not running properly" - having spent an eye-watering £3,600 to get 40 bhp, I would want £90 back for each one missing!!! UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE |

Offline | No; not at all. There's a little noise coming from the aft end but you need to have the windows down to hear it. In fact, compared to my R53S, my R56S seems refined (shudder). It's not a problem though. I'll save my pennies and slide the stage 1 kit on when the wife isn't looking... Safety fast, Bill |

Offline | Sorry to advertise another site but I have just been listening to an interview with Mike Cooper over at Motoring file where he talks about the new R56 JCW kit. He says it was developed by himself in exactly the same way as the previous kit and the kits themselves are currently at the factory in Sussex waiting to be shipped to the dealers next week. He also tells of his sons disappointment when he takes the new car for drive and finds that it's faster than his GP. |

Offline | Scone, your post has just made me wet my pants! I can just picture it and hear it!! Once again it must have 4 wheel drive for me to even conmsider it. Torque steer is driving me crazy MINI, it is a way of life. |

Online | Man selling tuning kit says "It's brilliant" shocker. Not saying it isn't, but what else would you expect Mike Cooper or MINI to say about their own performance package. |

| in28ive | Not Really Paul. As below # CW air filter system # Stainless steel sports exhaust # Exhaust manifold for operation at higher temperatures # Turbocharger air filter air guide # Modified engine electronics system # Activation code for engine control unit (specific to chassis number) # JCW emblems for front grille and tailgate # JCW engine badge with serial kit number # JCW certificate of authenticity There is no actual mention of the Cat being replaced and the talk seems to be that the SS exhaust is only cat-back. |

| MINI2 Master | Hi Paul, Yeah, no one is sure whether, when they mention 'exhaust mani' they mean block to turbo mani or cat downpipe. If you could find out that would be great. This is for those that are looking at the possibillity of the GTT Stealth cat in conjunction with the JCW192 kit. C. 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |
