Offline | Can't speak for the other dealers in the states but mine charges $90(45STG) an hour. From what I can gather from this thread that's considerably less than you're paying back home. |

Offline | THAT GRAPH IS VERY WRONG! Thanks Miniac, Ive just had a quick look and assuming the torque curves are correct, power can be calculated from that. The POWER curve for the STOCK car is inflated in the lower registers big time . For example at 2000rpm the power calculates circa 75bhp.....but theyve put it on the graph as nearly 100bhp!!!! -It is very worrying when BMW/JCW can make such a huge mess up as this. The truth is thepower of the JCW never goes below the stock car (assuming torque graph correct...it looks sensible). Is that graph from BMW/JCW? Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |

Offline | Yeah by the looks of it we are paying at least $200 an hour and judging by what they want to charge for fitting the JCW kit it's more like $300 an hour, ![]() ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Reply i got from customer services ![]() So Roland, we're still in the dark whether or not the cat gets changed out ![]() Dear Mr Shears Thank you for contacting MINI Customer Information. We are pleased to hear that you have a MINI Cooper S on order and can advise that we anticipate that the new JCW Tuning kit will be available from the end of July. However, we don't yet have published fuel consumption figures available for a MINI Cooper S with a JCW Kit. The main components of the JCW Kit are a sports exhaust with improved exhaust gas flow that makes the engine sound even more impressive and provides a winning look with powerful twin chrome exhaust pipe finishers. A special air filter also contributes to the improved power output and the acoustic roar. The kit is finished off by the adapted engine control unit. This makes the engine even more free-revving for rapid acceleration throughout the engine rev range. Tuning is not just a question of improved performance but also quality and safety, this is the guiding philosophy with which the JCW tuning kit was produced. This particularly applies in terms of endurance, effect on other components and compliance with statutory regulations. If the tuning kit is fitted by a MINI service authorised workshop the customer's warranty will not be effected. This is how the JCW tuning kit differs from many other tuning kits available on the market. Package includes: JCW air filter system Stainless steel sports exhaust Exhaust manifold for operation at higher temperatures Turbocharger air filter air guide Modified engine electronics system Activation code for engine control unit (specific to chassis number) JCW emblems for front grille and tailgate JCW engine badge with serial kit number JCW certificate of authenticity Part numbers are as follows: Description JCW Tuning Kit Part number 11.12.0.434.320 The kit is available at launch for manual cars only. We anticipate the tuning kit for cars with Automatic transmission will be available in September/October 2007. We hope this information is of use. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. Offline | It looks like the exhaust manifold has been modified to reduce heat. The easy way to do this is to get a free flow of gases. I reckon the dump pipe cats have been modified/changed or even 1 removed like the mod on the GTT stealth dump pipe/cats. This make sense and would have been a low risk way to improve the power output. They obviously re-mapped to allow for this and some additional boost and added the noise via air filter box and exhaust system. I am looking forward t getting it fitted and then modifying the inlet via the currently unused bonnet scoop. |
