| MINI2 Master | Well i sent a reply querying 'July' release seeing as July is nearly over and dealer had already told me August release and low an behold customer services changes it's answer. ![]() Thank you for your further response to MINI Customer Information. We can advise that the JCW Tuning Kit is now anticipated to be released in August 2007 and have had no indication from MINI UK when the fuel consumption figures are going to be published. However, we would advise staying in contact with your local MINI approved dealership who will be able to advise accordingly once more news is released. We apologise that we are unable to provide a more positive response at this time. 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | There is a mention of the new JCW kit over at Motoringfile, it says the hold up is due to the engine activation code and the kits should be around in early August. It also mentions fuel consumption should be the same as the standard S. |

Offline | Gentlemen, the JCW stage 1 kit is officially available in South Africa by next week Monday. The kit will retail for R13 500 (931.183 GP or €1,384.114) i do not know if that excludes fitting. Why will South Africa have the kit before the UK? MINI, it is a way of life. |

| MINI2 Master | Taken from Motoringfile ![]() R56 JCW Kit Stage 1 Update As anticipation builds for the release of the new (dealer installed) JCW kit for the R56, more details are starting to trickle out. And thanks to one of our trusty sources, we now have the full parts list of the kit to share with you.
In other JCW news, we’ve also learned that official fuel economy figures are expect to remain identical to the standard Cooper S. We’re told that, while the engine is more powerful, the new components are just as efficient as the parts they replace. Roland, Any idea what this air guide could consist of, and is it to cool the Turbo and what advantages does this have ?. 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

| MINI2 Master | Gabe, do you have any idea what effect this will have on the sport button? since that is also controlled by the ECU.It will quicken the response even more with the sport button “on” than with the standard MCS. A JCW MCS with the sport button in the “off” position will be close to the “on” mode in the standard car. Very interesting if this is true ![]() 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | Unfortunately I didn't get any info on the air guide other than that it was included. And the early August release sounds plausible (at least in the US) but it's been pushed back so many times I'm not getting my hopes up. |

| MINI2 Newbie | Yes. I am frustrated as they told me it would be ok. However, as you say, I can compare the two! I've decided against the rather garish body kit and I particularly dislike the standard gear knob. As a Newbie, is this a general feeling? Anyway, can't wait! ![]() |

| MINI2 Newbie | Newbie here again - apologies. My dealer has just told me that they had a JCW kit from the factory, but they were asked to return it a few days ago - something to do with the Engine Management System. Just thought some of you wonderful people might find this of interest. |

Offline | Anybody catch any whiffs of the kit over the past week? Any sneek peeks? July has come and gone and I for one am getting almost as antsy as when I was waiting for the car itself. Dying to know what the "Exhaust manifold (for operation at higher temperatures)" and "Turbocharger air filter air guide (to allow better cooling)" consist of. The rest seems pretty self explanitory. So kits came into dealers but got sent back. What did they look like? Someone has seen the install instructions? Post them in a .pdf, please! ![]() Founding member of R56 Anonymous: "Hello. Offline | Was at my dealer today trying to fix some rattles, they said the R56 JCW kit is available now and quoted £1090 plus fitting. They say they will have a demo car with it on for 1st September. However... While they are a generally good dealership I wouldn't believe all what they say! They didn't really know what was happening during the delays to the R56 last December and I learnt more about that from the Internet. |

Offline | Yes... but Alex's general review didn't answer any of my specifc parts questions. All I got out of it was basiclly "fastest JCW ever (despite the bhp ratings)... but doesn't sound as good as his GP". Got link from him with manifod pics (the section that connects the head with the turbo)... as well as the heat shield cover. Both look pretty much like stock, though. So no obvious differences without some hands-on inspection. ![]() Founding member of R56 Anonymous: "Hello. My name is Mike. I'm a driving enthusiast... and I still like the R56" |
