Offline | Hi All, We ordered our 2007 JCW R56 Cooper S this morning and I can't wait to get my hairy little hands on it!!! Dealer reckons the car will arrive at the end of October, it's going to be a long seven weeks or so!!! I feel like a 6yr old waiting for Xmas!!! ![]() It's the first one the dealer has sold and they reckon it might be one of the first off the line sold to a customer? Could this be true, I doubt it? We ordered.....chilli red with a black roof, bonnet stripes and a black grill, sports suspension, lsd, strut brace and a set of burnished R105's. I think the stock sports suspension will be stiff enough and I'll see how we get on with the brakes? And I'm not too sure about the aero kit, the front and sides look good, but I think the back looks pants! And we managed to get the number plate WK57 MCS as well, I just can't wait!!! P & T. |

| MINI2 Master | Cheers. Strangely i'm not missing the S/C whine as much as i thought. The exhaust burble is getting louder as i get some miles on this one though. Shame you need the window down to get the benefit. PW is not as hard as i thought to keep clean, nor the black alloys. Though i think this is down to the excellent Jeffs Werkstatt system Sealant that was applied after full correction / claying by Polished Bliss. The paint is like glass and a simple spray bottle with cold water is enough to remove bird lime and a karchers is enough to blast 95% of dirt off every few days ![]() You ordered your JCW kit yet.........................thought you were 'on the list' 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | We ordered a 2007 R56 MCS with the dealer installed JCW Tuning Kit, sorry to cause confusion! And I've just been told that the JCW strut brace won't fit with the new tuning kit? Is this true? I doubted that we were the first with the JCW tuning kit, we're just the first one our dealer had sold. He said "the tuning kit has only been available for a few weeks, you might be one of the first in the UK?". So for those of you who already have the JCW tuning kit, what do we think of it? P & T. |

Offline | Regarding the strut brace...I ordered the JCW strut brace with the JCW tuning kit, so I'm very surprised that our dealer said the two parts were incompatible, something to do with clearance on the air intake? ![]() P & T. |

Offline | Hi Washy as you have had an R53 JCW and the R56 standard MCS before having the kit fitted which seems quicker? I had a R53 MCS as a courtesy car back in 04 but I wasn't that blown away by it, but on my R56 MCS test drive I was very suprised, it seemed a damn sight quicker. Nearly the 1000mile mark now so only another 200 miles ![]() ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Pictures as you asked ![]() Had the kit fitted since new and so got 600 miles on the car / kit now. Getting better each day and though i haven't had chance to 'open' it up yet but based on the demo test drive i had and drives in R53 Works in the past i'd say this is quicker in a 'shoot out' but more importantly is a fair bit quicker 'real world' where we don't always drive around at 5k revs. On a seperate note i also prefer the ride / handling of the R56. The ride soaks up mid corner bumps better allowing more confidence on uneven roads. The handling is a bit more ' tippy toey' but once you're used to that there seems a little less outright grip but a bit better balance with less understeer and more adjustabillity. The LSD as mentioned by Roland seems like it's been set up a bit 'tighter' too. Another 650 miles to go.................................. ![]() 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

| 1151bhp/tonne | Ever since I first drove the R56 S I have been of the opinion that it is quicker than my R53 JCW....having spent a week (running in though) with my own R56 I am convinced that in the real woirld the car IS quicker than my R53 was. I need to get used to the different handling of the R56 to get the best out of it though. Six years with the old model is a long habit to break.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Black to the future.... |

Offline | That is a sweet looking R56, very subtle and very classy! The new "old English white" with a black roof etc is a good choice. Regarding your comments on the handling, do you have the Sports Suspension option fitted? I've ordered the SS on my MCS with the JCW R105 wheels and I'm wondering if the R56 will handle as well as my '02 MC with SS Plus and 17" wheels and Toyo Proxes T1 R tyres? I wasn't 100% impressed with the demo R56 MCS that I drove before placing my order, I thought it rolled a bit? The car was fitted with 18" wheels and with normal suspension, our dealer said it would handle better with the SS? I hope he's right! P & T. ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Thanks for the kind comments ![]() Yep i have the sports suspension fitted. It does roll a bit more than my R53MCS did and does handle differently as mentioned BUT once you adjust it is better. It's not edgy but does feel lighter at the rear promoting more grip at the front and hence less understeer. Not tried yet but would imagine it would 'bite' earlier than a R53 would if you're not used to lift off oversteer. 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |
