JCW Stage 2 Rumour updates

Thought some may find this interesting:

MotoringFile » Archive » MF Exclusive: “Stage II” JCW MINI Revealed

In short it looks like the factory JCW will have 210-220BHP and the JCW brake kit. No special wheels, bodykit or the JCW suspension as standard and they remain dealer fit extras.

Think I will be keeping my Stage 1 for a while longer...

It is a shame that suspension and bodykit appear to have been dropped, they were certainly pencilled in early on. But the power is still on track to that which we've always expected, which is great. I think if there's no "bodykit" then certainly things are still going to be modified to aid cooling of components and such as it's not easy to keep it all cool as it is.

That's probably the main reason for a redesigned turbo for only an extra 20bhp. So it runs a little cooler, or maintains the same boost but higher output !.

Be interesting to see how they price this in the UK and whether they 'actually decide' to offer this as a dealer kit.

Wonder why they don't just use a larger/more efficient intercooler. Alta has had good results in terms of power and temperature.

there must be a better power increase than this or is the power output at near its max it sounds like it when its runnung like a bag of hammers guy asked me if it's a desiel, no cats and variable boost and larger turbo, or what about two turbo's then you would need to fit a fire hose to keep the bonnet cool.
