No worries mate I'm going to put a proper thread up in the very near future, I'll put you down when I do.
I want to make this video good enough for a promotional video for BMW.

My God you've hit the nail on the head there mate, I get the same grinding noise from 4th to 2nd at about 3,000 revs.

What the hell is it?
Do BMW know about the problem?

It started on mine straight away

Me too, even when you are changing from third to second at about 20/25mph it does it. I know it's described as a grinding noise by some but to me it seems to make a 'honking' sort of noise.
I'm waiting to hear of a fix before I go to the dealers otherwise it will be in and out of the dealers while they try different things. It means you don't use the engine braking but solely rely on the brakes.

Be under no illusion the works kit was the best addition to my car, I was largely unimpressed with the test drive I took from the dealers, so thats why I started this thread.

I wondered if it was all hype or if punters who'd bought the kit where just saying they loved it just to save face

So for just under £2000 you would be able to get both the body kit and JCW engine kit work together and give the car a look which is very beautiful but being same way very subtle and a noticeable difference in performance.
