i too want the satnav as it definately vastly improves the interior look of the car. I actually like the giant speedo (contraversial opinion im sure) but the centre console looks much better with the extra controls on it with the satnav installed. If the JCW aero kit is included ill get the nav, otherwise its far too expensive.

UBERANDREMAN:
I have used a B&M Short throw lever on a gen1 Mini and found it fantastic. Really well made, lifetime warranty - makes shifts so much quicker and more precise. I think they're about 100pounds in the uk, no doubt cheaper in the us.

Which is, effectively, what the original article says: http://www.mini2.com/2008/02/24/full...inis-revealed/ but people seem to be letting their imaginations (or is it hopes) run away with them a little.

The rule of thumb with MINIs is: if in doubt, it's a cost option.

I have been told by Mini UK (by email) and my dealership (i know dealer information is sketchy) that Mini in Germany are considering including the aero kit on UK cars but not on the rest of europe cars. I know this is unlikely, and i realise it is far more likely mini will try and get as much money off us as possible, but maybe just maybe theres a possibility!

Does anyone know (not through dealers as they all seem to have different answers) when Mini UK are due to release the final spec and options list of the JCW car?? I am quite impatient for this to happen!!

I am sorry but this must be just a another (stupid?) rumour...the price in Germany for Works S is 27700 Euro without the aerokit. The UK price is announced with 20500£ which is 25970 Euro. that means already 1700 Euro less than the europe price....and this as you said with aerokit included?????
I am sorry but it's just not possible!

But like you i am quite impatient to to order that beast....!

when does the press get to test-drive the Works?
hope they'll say it's superb and doesn't make me long for a CaymanS (with Manthey's diff-lock)

Oh Great! I'm already getting anxious to find out more having waited since putting down a deposit mid March. Another whole month is going to be painful. I'm really going to have to put this thing to the back of my mind!

i got yesterday the official Works PDF with all specs and infos for Germany (and Switzerland I HOPE..). Unfortunately the pdf is 6megs so i can't upload it.
The most important information is that we can order both Worksversion (hatch+clubbi) from week 16.
They start to deliver from mid july. JUST GREEAAAT!

I just hope that the UK order date is the same as we seem to be behind; there is not the section on the UK mini site relating specifically to the JCW model, but it is on the German and International sites: annoying since its originally a British brand, and John Cooper was a Brit.
Sorry for the rant, I dont know what came over me!

There is no reason to do different than in the other european countrys. Should be the same for UK.

Post German MINI JCW PDF

souldriver was kind enough to email me the large PDF file of the german data for the new MINI JCW, and i have compressed it to 1.5MB from 6.8MB. I could not get it any smaller and i cannot post it on here (0.5MB is maximum).

It is in german, but may be of use to some people! If so PM me with your email address and i have no problem emailing out the compressed file.

No mention in that PDF of the hi-fi upgrade, either

Of course, my German's almost non-existant, but what I see listed is the following:
Uprated engine
speedo to 260km/h
JCW badging
JCW-somethingelse
Uprated brakes with red bits
Something else with red something-or-other (think this is the gearstick)
3-spoke leather steering wheel the JCW leather/alcatnara one? I bet not)
Sport button
Anthracite headlining
17" Challenge wheels
Twin 85mm exhaust pipe
DTC

Also mentioned elsewere in the brichure is the fact that Piano Black is the standard interior trim; there's lots of mentions of carbon fibre bits, but I'm guessing that it's talking about options (the sort you pay for if you want them).

OK so im totally one of the people bashing on MINI for giving the Factory car standard suspension
MotoringFile » Archive » JCW MINI to Get Standard Suspension

Im not going to bash on them as much as I did on the article but honestly this is really changing my mind about the JCW car I'm Pretty sure Im probably going to wait for either the stage 2 kit something else to come out anyway... im prob going to go cheaper with a new or used cooper s and save my car money for now.

look at the "time of posting", we were posting at the exact same time
so how could I read your posting?????

ON TOPIC:
the only reason for me to buy this works is the "acceptability" by my clients
this in comparison witt superfast beemers or PboxsterS of TTroadster
I am dissapointed by the spec, GP seems still faster (and my fathers 330cDiesel is same 0-100km/h)
