Offline | sounds like a bit of FUD to me. Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. I think MINI like it and thinks a sign of a good marketing campaign. Keeps those pesky customers in a slather. ![]() WhatCar? Claim: “As hot hatches go, it’s hotter than a blacksmith’s armpit.” |

Offline | My dealer has confirmed through contact with mini uk that it is in fact the case that the clubman will be delayed til 2009 because of the bodykit! Unbelievable they would do this. Doesnt affect me as i want a hatch, but i really feel for people who have had a deposit don on a clubman version. That is a really long wait! ![]() |

Offline | ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh dear. I'll have to think long and hard about this. I need a bigger car NOW - and with 110,000 miles on the clock I wasn't planning on keeping my current MCS any longer than a few more months. But I doubt that I'll be able to afford a JCW AND a car now to "tide me over". I either get something new this summer (and it will almost certainly be non-MINI shaped as I didn't really like the Clubman D, and don't want to settle for a "second-best" S), or hope that my current car will last another 12 months *and* I put up with the increasingly impractical nature of the Hatch as the only family car now I have two children. And all for ****ing body kit that I don't want! |

Offline | Theres been no mention of it in any of the press releases, etc, so i very much doubt its upgraded. There isnt really any room for a larger one - the aftermarket options all extend upwards by covering the lower part of the radiator, but im not sure that would be considered as an option for a factory part.(?) |

| MINI2 Regular | See this annoys me, i really wish American autos wherent kicking out such a crap parade of cars so we could get some decent perks on decent cars germany and japan get all the fun and you guys are just lucky with MINI ( as long as price doesnt go up by 2 grand for the body kit of course) w/e ill wait for MINI USA to get their act together and give me a more performance oriented car to upgrade to that price range, or wait for detroit to make a decent, reliable, good handeling, well priced car (some things are just imposible to wish for lololol) |

Offline | That date comes from someone rather higher up the "food chain" than my dealer. Apparentyly "full product details" will be released on that date - I imagine that means price plus info as to what will be standard equipment on the car. In the meantime, I'm going to write to MINI to see if they are serious about pushing the JCW Clubman back to March 09. |

Offline | Hmm - I managed to get a bit more info on the JCW via the mini.com website - don't know if it's the UK info, or how new it actually is, and it might have been up for a while, but today is the first day that I've seen actual car details on there rather than the usual link to JCW tuning bits. They're not exactly pushing the boat out on included extras. Aside from the engine and brake changes, you get an anthracite headliner and and piano black rings inside; the sports seats will be cloth as standard, with the usual MINI options, and not the Recaros (not that anyone thought that they would be). Oh, and a sport steering wheel trimmed in leather as standard. The hi-fi speakers and aircon are also optional extras, though - as is the BOOST radio! I didn't know that they did a radio *worse* than BOOST - so you learn something new every day. Outside, white indicators are standard, as are the 17" cross spoke Challenge alloys. Oh, and the aero bodykit is included as standard on the hatch (but not the Clubman - hopefully this means that they're not taking the boneheaded decision to delay the Clubman now). Dynamic traction control and the electronic diff thingy. Everything else is reporting as being an extra. |

Offline | Hmm - yet the bodykit is *not* listed as an option for the Hatch, and the Hatch list of standard equipment includes modified bumpers (which are noot listed for the Clubman - largely because they haven't got any for the Clubman). |

Offline | Hopefully the HiFi system will be included in the uk. I will be very annoyed if not as the press release on them MiniUK site EXPLICITLY states it will be included: MINI - About Us - MINI News - Hot News “….An upgraded sound system is also included in the JCW package and features 10 speakers and an eight-channel amplifier for increased aural pleasure…..” My dealer has the sheet to order his launch car, and that has the hifi as an extra, so i hope this is not a sign of what we are to expect. If those who have ordered the JCW could get their dealers to query miniUK on this matter, it will at least show them that customers do know what the press release said and do not want shortchanging! |
