Offline | Good point - you can spot the Workd brakes, and I'm guessing that the Works/Challenge engine may have a few tell-tale signs as to what it is, but how will you know that they've not forgotten something like the Works clutch, or the Works ECU map? Though in fairness it's probably quite hard to "forget" something important on a Works car, as they all have those bits, whereas darkened glass is an option that won't be fitted to every car. The Works that was sitting outside the MINI Challenge tent at Donnington *looked* to have all sorts of extras, so I assumed that it had the Chili pack too - but the rear windows weren't noticeably darker than the fronts. Is the "darkened" glass just a really *sublte* effect (ie almost impossible to notice to a mere mortal), or is it quite striking (when they remember to fit it)? |

Offline | And yeah - I'd be tempted to keep the windows that they fitted at the factory, and demand they pay up for a good tint job. Leaves all the seals intact - things are never quite the same once stuff has been removed and reinstalled. Unless the tinters want to take the windows out too! |

Offline | This is bobbins. Those of us that have been to the factory know that the sledge that carries the car has a bluetooth box that carries the car spec. You don't forget to put tinted windows on on all of the cars. Its a programming error. And then not picked up in QC. If you have accredited quality systems (and I bet they do) its a Cat 1 systematic quality failure. I'm not letting them take my windows out - remember the R53's when the windscreen used to break and they used to leak on replacement. I think compensation and an immaculate tint is needed. Us customers should stick together too! ![]() WhatCar? Claim: “As hot hatches go, it’s hotter than a blacksmith’s armpit.” |

Offline | Our little MINI (JCW) just finished up Monday August 4th and is currently at the dock in Southampton waiting to board a ship to the states. Anyone in the the Southampton area go say hi to our MINI! Is there any live photos available of the MINI loading area or is that a restricted area? ![]() |
