Ordered mine from Grassicks in Perth a couple of days ago, order got confirmed today. Have traded in my old cooper as well for it. Dealer said that it will be towards the end of July early August till my car arrives. The dealers expecting their demonstator around 27th July.

I've gone for the red with the black roof/mirrors and black bonnet stripe.
Chilli pack
Full bluetooth USB
Panoramic roof
mirrors pack
upgrade hifi speakers and amp

Grassicks had the full spec sheet and the sheet with all the options with cost.

Can't wait

Go have a look at how much BMW charge for an M3 in the States ($39k) and compare it to the £52k they want for it in the UK.....

Well, BMW know British people will pay the price. If no-one bought the MINI, it would be no-where now. They can effectively charge what they like for a car with a lot of heritage. In America, they have to drop the price compared to the equivalent rate as they have to pick up sales and try to be competitive in against well known cars there. I guess BMW are prepared to take a less profit margin for every MINI sold in the US to gain popularity.

Anyway, if someone wants a cheaper JCW, go to the US and live there .

Thats what i wanted to say...! German upper class cars are real bargains in the US. Unfortunately (for europeans!) they can't rise up the prices in the US because otherwise they will sell much less cars on the US market. But what me makes really angry is the fact that all high class germany car producers increased their prices in swiss(euro-)market....do they need that because they loose money in the US market? I thinks so...

Talking Where can you order JCW ?

OK, so now I'm completely hacked off with my local dealers. I went into 2 yesterday in the Thames Valley, was told that BMW have not released yet the pricing & ordering for the JCW, a third one denied all knowledge of it .
Honestly, I've never come across such a shower of salespeople as you get in the Mini dealerships down South. Just as well they've got a good product that sells itself, since out of all the dealerships I've visited I've only found 1 decent salesguy & he'd only been there 3 weeks, so plenty of time for him to change. God help them if they had to sell Daewoos or something difficult, they'd all starve to death.....having said that, seems to be an easy job to do round these parts, no sales skills required, maybe I should apply myself !

Anyway, ranting over. I'm just about to order a new S, but do fancy looking at the JCW. Spec I was pricing up on the Cooper S was as follows :

Astro Black or Pepper White
Cloth/Lea Ray Cream White
Interior Trim Piano Black

CHILI Pack
Bi-Xenon Headlights (Part of CHILI Pack)
Manual Air Conditioning (Part of CHILI Pack)
On-Board Computer (Part of CHILI Pack)
Interior Light Pack (Part of CHILI Pack)
2nd Remote Key (Part of CHILI Pack)

Multifunction for S/Wheel
Remote Control Alarm
Heated Windscreen Washer Jets/Mirrors
Visibility Pack
Panoramic Glass Sunroof
Darkened Rear Glass
Park Distance Control
Rain Sensor & Lights On
Limited Slip Differential
Colour Line Cream White
Anthracite Roof Lining
HiFi Speaker System
Full Bluetooth with USB & Voice (although I've heard the voice is rubbish)
JCW Aero Kit

The total cost of this was comng around the £21600 mark, so anyone know a good dealer out there who can/is willing to quote me an equivalent spec for a JCW , preferable somewhere in the Thames Valley area but happy to travel for a good deal/service ?
Would be interesting to see the comparison, it looks like the difference would only be around £2K for a JCW if the posts are correct ?

Thanks

Dave

Id give mini customer service a ring and tell them about these dealers lack of information. They tend to be pretty good, and will be able to point you in the right direction. They'd also probably contact your local deaaler and tell them how to spec the car
To quote all your dealer has to do is look on their ordering system (on their computer) and the JCW will be there to be specced/ordered.

Souldriver's lucky - he lives abroad. My red Clubman will be delivered March/April '09. Hopefully.

Go on, Souldriver - what options have you ticked?

I have ordered my Mini JCW for delivery at launch. Signature colour of CR/B with black bonnet stripes. Also full bluetooth, exterior mirror pack (because it is a business car) and red colour line and interior chrome. Basic poverty spec I am afraid as I suffer horrendous depreciation due to 50k pa mileage. My 75k miles full spec R56 MCS is down around the £10k mark! A bargain for someone!

Then why get rid of it so quickly?

There are plenty of MINIs out there running reliably after 100K or more - mine's on 120K, and one MINI2 member has done over 250K!

I know why - you want to swap your MCS for a JCW, and hang the expense! Ah, that makes perfect sense

How perceptive. I restrained myself until the 'S' was released in June 02 and despite not ordering one in advance purchased his showroom car. The JCW will be my fifth with a total of 190,000 miles. I just have to have the uber mini of the moment!!!!

News today from my dealer. He received confirmation of my delivery date - i had been given one of the very first build slots for delivery on launch day. Although usually this would be brilliant, i dont actyually want the car until 1 October for insurance reasons, so i have had to push the build date back. It is now listed as Production Week 36-09-2008, Expected Week 38-09-2008. Anyone know when these weeks are in terms of real dates??

Does anyone happen to have the price list for the extras and JCW extras for the factory JCW? I know the OTR price and chilli pack price, just wondering if anyone has any more pricing info?

:-)
