This is my fourth MINI (3 MCS), so I'm used to the tracking game - although the others got scheduled on ships a bit faster.

Yep been tracking mine the entire way, it's due to hit U.S. soil in approximately 2 hours!! Then it's off to the VDC to get the JCW Aero and where it will sit for nearly 2 weeks

MINI are holding a press day fro the new JCW next week. I guess that means there will be reports in the magazines in the next fortnight. Fingers crossed the thing is good!

Insurance Group 17

Looks like Mini have published JCW details to insurance companies, car websites etc as I spotted it has been added to the Parkers site with some "facts and figures" (forum wont let me publish the link), and JCW was a selectable vehicle for quotes on the esure site.

Anyway this seems to confirm the insurance group which I know a few have been waiting for.

Hello. I ordered my JCW just over a month ago and it goes into production imminently! Just got off the phone from the dealer to cancel the multi-function steeriing wheel as I really like the JCW steering wheel (alacantra or leather with carbon inserts) after reading this thread. The spec I'm going with is:

Dark Silver / Black
No stripes
Chilli Pack
Black punch leather
Piano black interior
Rooster red colour line
Chrome mirror caps
Retractable heated mirrors / heated washer jets

Changed my mind almost daily on the roof colour! I like white but think the black roof looks the biz with dark silver and yo get the transition from the darkened glass and black pillars. One more night to be certain. Tried to keep the other options to a minimum as driving is what this car is all about. Also ordered a peronalised 58 plate from DVLA so scheduled fro Sept 1 delivery. The dealer will have demo and one or two customer cars in on July 22 so I'll be going down to drive one! Now, back to those spec refinements.....

I totally love the new factory JCW... Problem is I know I would end up spending far too much on it with all the options etc.

My R56 MCS was 25.5k and I can only imagine if I was to buy a JCW it would be over the 30k mark quite easily (Those R113's are stunning ). The car does have an improved basic spec which incorporates a few of the options I paid for on my current MCS (but not Sat Nav ).

But I suppose it boiles down to if you can warrant that sort of money on a Mini! I am not looking forward to my local dealer getting their demo... I will end up signing on the dotted line.

I think I am just trying to convince myself to order one lol!

My dealer gave me the brochure and price list at the weekend and I have so far resisted the temptation to spec one up...

I have just sat here being a total geek and put a spreadsheet together with options... Not knowing exact prices (using guestimates) for Recaros, JCW Suspension, JCW strut etc I have managed a killer...

£32k

It would be one hell of a car though. Hmmmmmm

My original quote was a tad under £24k incuding the Chili pack and dealer fitted options such as paint protection, TLC etc. As time nudged closer to production (this week!) I found myself adding extras but still managed to not go much over £25k. The hardest thing for me was the colour choice, especially the roof colour which I wasn't sure about until the last minute.
It sounds like the JCW accessories, expecially recaro seats can push the price up significantly so I've tried to restrain myself and so far will just be adding a JCW steering wheel. More may follow over time and as funds allow! My dealer told me of one customer who had specced his JCW to over £36k! Bear in mind that the cost of most 'extras' may be lost if/when selling on. I've been promising myself this car for a very long time (way before I even knew they would be launching a factory JCW!) and can't wait to get behind the wheel! I've bever waivered from my choice being a MINI - this isn't a rational decision after all

£29k, speccing a car on the German site and converting it to £££s. And that's without any of the dealer-fit stuff I might want! Though I suspect a large part of the daft price is down to the £/Euro exchange rate sucking particularly bad this year.

I think I'll go for a JCW s/w, gear stick and handbrake, and ignore the expensive stuff like JCW suspension and Recaros. On the outside, I've seen some rather nice c/f door handles, but I know once I start off down that road I'll end up getting c/f everywhere!

France

Hello!

I'm from France. I just order my Mini JCW this week as price for France has just been official.
I've got two questions.

In France the JCW aero kit is not part of the offer. There are much more convenience features coming by default.

I do not like the JCW areo factory kit. Then I order the JCW aero kit which will be fitted on my car by the dealer. Someone told me that the there is a specific JCW aero kit for the Mini. It would be different from the standard JCW aero kit.
Do you have some news about it ?

Secondaly, is the suspension by standard sport tuned, same package that can be ordered in a Cooper S ?

Thanks for your help.

For your information, our Mini JCW will be ligthing blue, white roof. Sporty stripes on the bonnet and on the trunk, external handle with union jack, JCW aero kit, and additional lights on the front bump.

I seen our JCW demo yesterday..................Imagine my anticipation .....................i went running down to the holding bay behind the MINI shjowroom , burst through the door to see a pepper white cooper s sat there with different wheels and a aero kit on it with an exhaust hidden by the aero kit back bumper .............my face dropped and my words were 'oh is that it'...........the MINI team were all stood there awaiting my reaction......laughed.....and said...........'thats exactly what we done!!!'

Thankfully for my bank account it was the biggest anti climax for a long time............

When i actually got down on my hands and knees to see the exhaust tail pipes they looked quite good, but are so hidden by the bumper!!! the wheels NEED to be 18"

So far everyone who has seen it has not been very impressed and we are quite keen on MINI's too

Its not special enough to warrant the extra hike in price and also doesnt sound too different to a standard car either
