OMG Im glad I already have my mini.
The backside of those are horrible.
It doesnt even go with the rest of the design.
Like a mini got into an accident and they
put it back together with other car parts..

Is it just me, or does the "shoulder" on the rear 3/4, below the rear window look really clumsy?

Jordan: Thanks for finding and posting these photographs.

I know someone will say that it's only a disguised version and we should wait until it's launched, but there's not very much disguise on the hatchback MINI.

This car is no longer pretty, it's also getting fat in a Mk 1-2-3-4-5 Golf sort of a way. Not only is the front taller and longer (inevitably), but those rear wheel arches buldge out and look dreadful. The larger wheel arches try and disguise the flabby new shape and will, no doubt, be great for those people who like to try and fit ever larger wheels but won't do anything for the rest of us.

The style will probably suit the estate a lot better, where the bulky back end will balance nicely with the flabby new nose.

Overall, not just ugly, but actually upsetting I guess that, since the departure of Frank Stephenson, the style of our car was never likely to be in safe hands.

Tigger.

PS: If we didn't like our current MINI so much (and if we were looking to change it in the next 18 months or so) I would be reserving a production slot for the old car tomorrow on the basis of these pictures alone

I've just been onto the site that's mentioned in the photographs and there is a great picture of the back of the car (rear 3/4's) that shows how the buldging out rear 1/4's make some sense. The only problem is that the entire rear has middle-aged spread as well

Tigger.

thats the worse photoshop job in the first pic, the second one hasn't been tampered with too much, but seeing the first makes me think that these shouldn't be used to judge a car that will soon be revealed

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Hmm found this too.

Seen sporting the new 's' spokes maybe? And the new Cooper S filler cap, as that also looks different.

Im not a fan of this new model

Glad i got my cooper 2006 model

Well the website says that they have removed the tape from the bumper on the first image, and done nothing else. Whether thats true or not - only the site knows.

But either way that car is very similar to other mules posted - so its the way things are going i guess.

They do have some other pics on there if anyone is interested

Not sure I like this

The mk1 is more nicer looking

But I am sure this will be a great car, but not as good looking as the mk1

Was MK1 Black MINI ONE (Sept 2001 Build)

but if you look at the first shot, you can see far more tampering than that, such as the it has the wing mirrors off our current MINI, as the new MINI has a more diamond shape to the wing mirrors instead of the oval that we have now.

This can be seen even comparing shot 1 with shot two.

Side indicators on shot 1 are also off our current MINI's, the new side indicators are shorter but thicker/deeper than the current ones, which is why it has had a trim as it reaches the panel gap of the bonnet. You can make out the shape of the new ones on the second shot, even under the tape

And thats without even starting on the shape of the grill been different between the two shots, the number plate been out of scale on the photoshop pic, as well as a loads of other details.

The pics offer nothing new over what we have seen already

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Hmm yes looking at it in depth, there are alot of changes/mistakes from the actual spy shots.

Though i never said it was a definite true reflection of the new model, i think its the closest thing we have seen so far with colour and the new mini look.

Thats IMO anyway.
