Offline | Does anyone else think that rear stabiliser bar on the rear suspension looks daft. Is it staying for production? Looks like someone bolted on a piece of angle iron as a last minute thought. Just think is makes the back end of the car look awful. And then there's the front....![]() |

Offline | Has anyone done a proper comparison between the specification of the old and new suspension systems? There was certainly talk, several months ago, of it being simplified to make it cheaper to build. Has it been improved? Has it been subject to cost cutting? I've got to agree, it doesn't look right though. Come to think of it, where is the new gearbox being sourced? Is it Getrag again? Is it Peugeot/Citroen? Tigger. ![]() May 08: Thanks to all of my friends on Mini2 for a lot of great times over the last 4 years. In future I can always be contacted here! |

Offline | This is something which cheeses me off. All these modifications to make the new car cheaper to build... then they increase the prices of the new model!!!! I ain't swapping mine for it!! ![]() |

Offline | It does look odd when you're behind a load of the S and you can see a load of silencers and suspension systems looking back at you. I guess it's in part to the new shiny material, the lack of twin silencers "hiding" them, and the rear bumper appears to finish higher (if it does or not don't know). |

![]() MINI2 Master | As far as I'm aware, this was one of the main driving forces for the change of model, apparently the 'original' 01-03 MINI's used to cost nearly as much as a 3-series to manufacture, then they had to sell them as a lower price. This left very little proffit for BMW and the dealers. Probably one of the reasons why there is a 'no discounts' policy on buying a MINI. |

| MINI2 Sex God & etc...... | Do we know the prices of the new model at all? When the turbo S comes on to the market I can see it selling for just short of 18-19k sounds high but lets face it, it's likely. If the price is around this figure, would it put anyone off the new model? or would you struggle along and be completely skint so you can afford the new S prices? on the other hand will the prices stay the same or drop, because it's got peugoet/citreon links? No doubt the options list will get hiked up as well, I'm worried when it comes to getting a new car that I wont be able to move up to a S (New one that is) because of the price. ![]() |

Offline | so is that a good thing or a bad thing?? i personally cannot stand the sight of raw metal. i was looking in auto trader earlier, you can get a 02 tuscan low mileage for 16 grand 19grand is VERY high. but the golf gti is even higher isnt it, similar performance but i think the vdub has better build quality to it ![]() |

Offline | I can't believe that it's going to cost that much. If it does then that's no longer in the same category as the competition, most of which are cheaper and have more power. For that money I'd rather have a Golf GTi even a year old one. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mini but I've driven a GTi several times now and I reckon it's cracking car and has nearly tempted me away from Mini ownership a few times. |

Offline | is the exposed back enough to put you off buying a mini, i have to say its not appealing to me much now. i can just about put up with the back of the current one because it drives so well, but the new one just looks so high and raw. it reminds me of old cars where the exhaust flicks up and you can see everything. is there any chance that, that bumper is not the final production one?? |

Offline | That's it in terms of "exposure" at the rear I'd say, can't see them modifying the rear bumper or undertray much at this stage. It wouldn't put me off, I like it a lot from other angles, and behind the wheel was/is great. |
