Offline | The QE2's got more torque yet the Mini will beat it in a standing start over a mile.... BHP for top speed and acceleration, torque for ingear acceleration... No one wants to be dropping 2 cogs to over take these days... we just want a nice wide torque band to smoothly 'blow past'.... |

Offline | Sorry to bring this up again, I think I may have missed something. JCW have closed their shop so presumably will become advisor's to rather than constructors of Kit's in relation to BMW. This surely means the GP is the last "proper" JCW, or have I totally missed the point here? ![]() GP 0904 |

Offline | I think you've missed the point. They've closed the shopfront/face to face retail operation, they will still do as much in terms of development and testing with BMW as before. This is the word from Mike Cooper himself. |

Offline | Just been looking at the figures for the current Cooper S & Cooper S Works. Looks like the extra torque of the new S really makes a difference for in gear acceleration ![]() Current S Acceleration 80-120 km/h (4th / 5th gear): 6.1 s / 7.7 s [n/a]³ Current S Works Acceleration 80-120 km/h (4th / 5th / 6th gear): 5.4 s / 6.7 s / 8.9 s New S Acceleration 80-120 km/h (4th / 5th / 6th gear): 5.5 s / 7 s / 8 s |

| Mazda3 Visitor | are those the same gear ratios for the old and new cars though? could be pretty deceiving info it they are not. . . Minis rule, but so do Mazda3's, thank goodness I'm running in H-stock now though (only gotta deal with the regular Coopers now). . . |
