New Mini price confusion using configurator

I have just been on the configurator for the new r56 mini, and noticed that the price I get is considerably cheaper than I was quoted at the local dealer!

The site states that the price is on the road, inc tax and delivery, where as the price the dealer quoted me was with an extra £342 delivery, £190 tax, and £38 first reg fee.

Is the price on the website not on the road? or have they lowered the on the road price?

The configurator is incorrect. Delivery is £342, first registration is £38 and road taxis £100 for a Cooper and £125 for a Cooper S.

These need to be added to the price shown on the configurator.

Noticed the same thing but then checked my order which says the car is 15,485 and then lists the extra separately.

Bit confusing for anyone trying to spec up a definite price on there.

£190 road tax, which model? It will be £100 for the Cooper and £125 for the Cooper S for 12 months Road Tax (VED)

done the maths and mine works out if I take off the £90 for colour line, road tax, plates, tlc, first reg, fuel and delivery. What confuses me is it says on the configarator the total price includes delivery, first registration, vehicle duty and number plates.

This cant be right...................

I was one of the first to spec at the dealer before they knew any details. I need to get them to update it.

I mean though that on the website, it implies that the "total price" is including delivery and tax.

Whereas the price from my dealer, works out the same, plus delivery and tax. Seems strange!

If you are having Punch leather the Dark Grey colour line is standard and there should be no extra charge. I have this problem with my Carbon black Ray Cloth/leather. However due to a fault on the dealers' system it is adding £90.

My dealer admits there is a problem with the system and I guess I will just pay him £90 less if the system does not get sorted.

I never understand why you have to pay the delivery cost, fair enough if its delivered to you on a trailer but otherwise i think it takes the p*%$. If you go and buy a pair of trousers ,the shop doesn't say "that will be £20 for the trousers and 50p for the delivery "( i know its included in the price though). They might aswell be honest and just add it to the price of the car. It's just another motor industry con. Heres your car..."its £3.50 plus £13,000 for delivery and £500 for the air in the tyres...I know you haven't got a steering wheel but you didn't specify that on the options list"
