Am I gonna regret changing my MCS to the R56 MC

I´m so in love with the R56.. The only reason I´m wondering about getting a new MC instead of a MCS is that I really want the towbar... yeah I know, its a cooper and you should´t tow with it bla bla..:
But the thing is that I have a personal water craft that is used regulary in the summer, and I could´t in my mind came up with a cooler car to tow it with than a cooper.
But I´m worried that i am going to regret my choice if I get a cooper instead of a S.. What do you think?
Plan B is to go with the MCS anyway and get a cheap crappy car to tow around the PWC with..

Is there anyone here who has changed the S to and MC and what is your opinion?

Freddo,

Once you read the CAR magazine review http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/first_d...sid=274&page=1 i think you will not want to get the COOPER.

Once you go S you never go back.

MINI, it is a way of life.

Get a test drive as soon as possible. You'll still love the new MC as a MINI but you may regret the power drop.

I've recently gone from a MCS to a Cooper, and although I miss the power, I love the Cooper. It's not a lesser car; it's an entirely different car to drive (more engaging), and I've been so surprised by it's liveliness and maneuverability It's a lot of fun

Because I loved the supercharger so much (I've driven the new, turbo-charged MCS), the R56 S has lost some of its appeal, and, given the choice, i'd not swap the Cooper for the new S unless it's a JCW MCS (hopefully, the kit will put some of the fun factor back into the S)

Anyway, that's my experience. Good luck, whichever way you go

a MINI is a MINI, all are great

But if the only reason for getting a Cooper in place of MCS is for a towbar I'd reconsider, as there are towbars for the current MCS so I expect someone would bring one out for the R56 MCS with time

I always miss my MINI when I drive the GF's Cooper, and couldn't do that swap on a permanent basis

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

on page 85 of the mew mini brochure , the cooper max towing weight is 750kg , and the cooper S is zero , i think this is down to the rear body work. you would not be insured if you towed with the cooper S,

Wink Simple solution

Just buy a £500 banger for towing. Additional bonus...

No worry over getting it messy with wetsuits
No worry over prangs in the car park etc.
No need to clean it
Very cheap to insure and run.

....and you get to keep your MCS.

Nice work.

Cheers,
K.

Well I'm going for a R56 Cooper having sold earlier this year my Cooper S. Not too fussed about the added welly. Can't stretch to the extra cost either !
Not going to miss the extra performance as not having a car since August our ride on lawn mower is the fastest thing I've driven for a while !

Now after I´ve driven both Cooper and S a few times I made my choice.
I`m getting a Cooper, it really impressed me. Very different to the old one.
And I´ve also been given a pretty good deal, so a Cooper it is
