Hi Guys,

After spending a year logged in as a guest I figured it was about time I joined the MIni2 community and got you guys to help me with this problem.

I currenty own a 2004 Chilli Red Cooper and absolutley love it.

I'm going to purchase a new r56 Cooper S and was going to go for the same colour again (Chilli red with white roof) until my younger brother decided to buy my cooper off me.

This means that the two cars will be parked in the same drive way and will look kinda stupid. So I think I need to find a new color for the new car.

I like the cooper s in laser blue, (my dealer let me sit in one today, dont tell anyone!) but I am in love with the rooster red colour line with piano black dash and chrome line interior and this will look stupid in a blue car.

The interior would work with an Astro Black Cooper S, but not mad the shade of black (why did they discontinue the non astro black?). Also if i was to go for the Astro Black i would go for a black roof and therefore the mini would lose some of its fun looking factor.

Ugh, I dunno, choices, choices, choices

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Im 99.999999% sure you cant have rooster red with laser blue.

Ive gone for laser blue, all black inside with chrome.

Also have a look at silver (pure or dark), with redwood interior.

Hi Conor,

Apart from Chili Red, your chosen interior is only available with Pepper White, Astro Black, Pure Silver and Sparkling Silver, so my choices in order would be:

Pepper White/Black
Astro Black/White
Pure Silver/Black
Sparkling Silver/Black

I still think you should stick with your first choice though, regardless of where the car will be parked. Chili Red/White with Rooster Red seats and colour line looks awesome, and the new car is different enough from your current one.

Really, my dealer put the order through last week with Chilli red and piano black dash and no problems as of yet!

I like Astro Black, but agree with what you're saying with regard's to loosing the contrast roof by going all black. (white looks too stark against the balck imo)

Choices, Choices...................but for heaven's sake; don't base your decisions on how two cars are going to look next to each other on a Driveway

Sorry, it wasn't totally clear, your chosen interior is only available with Chili Red and all the colours I listed.

Try AB with body colour roof, chrome exterior and then after market viper stripes front, top and back in chrome silver.

Add chrome mirror caps and bonnet scoop, should look great

I forgot to mention in my orginal post that I am going to add the aero kit so chrome line exterior might be a waste. I do like the idea chrome mirror caps with astro black though.

Would you go for chilli red again Scrogg?

LOL, no sorry havent seen your spec yet. Great minds think alike and all that.

While I could be presuaded to go for an all Astro Black Cooper S , I like heading out the door, esp on dark winter mornings, to see my nice bright Chilli red cooper. Dont think a black car will have the same effect.

I'll never be persuaded to go for anything other than Chili Red, but from looking at MINI's all day long I am in agreement with Baldrick about all-over Astro Black with chrome everywhere looking stunning.

If you've already done Chili Red / White and don't want it again what about Chili Red with a Black roof and stripes?

I'd stick with Chili Red + White - great colour combo - i'd certainly have it again!

The red colour line with piano black dash will look
(although i'd have silver as i like to keep it light on the inside )

And as for two cars the same colour parking next to each other - i'd love it!!

Very nice, well Ill prob go for total astro balck or chilli red with white roof. If only they didnt discontinue the non metalic black.

How about red/black? I think the red looks very nice indeed with a black roof.
