Offline | R56 Cooper S performance figures Hi folks I don't know if any of you have read last weeks Auto Express review of the new Cooper S group test, but lets just say that the results were pretty tasty. It posted a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds - much better than the figures released by Mini! |

Offline | Hello - and welcome to the forum! MINI's are 0-62mph... not sure if that'd account for the extra 0.6 secs though... seems unlikely. Maybe they had a stripped down MCS, with none of the heavy options? 6.5 secs sounds good to me, though! Last edited by m1m0 : Nov 16th, 2006 at 04:46 PM. Reason: typo. and lack of greeting. |

Offline | good point, I've just checked and it was 0-60mph as opposed to 0-62mph, but as you say I don't think it would account for such a difference. Having said that, the in gear acceleration is the most impressive. The 30-50mph in 3rd/4th came in at 2.9 / 4.1 secs, compared to 4.3 / 5.4 secs for the Clio 197 and 3.0 / 3.6 secs for the Focus ST. Good work Mini! |

Offline | Hi Gene, I had a July'04 MCS until the middle part of last year when I was forced to sell up due to starting my own business. I'm pleased to say that things have gone well and I'm really keen to get back in a MCS. Just toying with the idea of a '05-plate JCW MCS, because I really missed the supercharger whine! But the more I see of the R56, I can't help but be tempted to book a test drive! Hopefully I'll make my mind up sooner rather than later! ![]() |

Offline | Is the New S faster to 60mph than the 210bhp JCW based on the Auto Express Article? Did Auto express ever test the 210bhp JCW? What was its 0-60mph time? In SA we are not exposed to your excellent magazines. MINI, it is a way of life. |
