Running In

With the prospect of this coming up shortly I was wondering if anyone knew what the suggested run in is on the new model?

Excuse my Ignorance, but what's a 'Bench Test'?

And why does that mean you don't have to stick to Run In rules, or Is it just a bit of salesman 'you know what' ?

On another note; A 'person' was freely revving an 'S' demonstrator well into the 6,000RPM band- (for my benefit; wasted on me, I was still waiting for the whine to kick in )- earlier today; for the record, it only had 64 miles on the clock ;
I dread to think what the same dealer was doing to my 26mile GP!

I must admit, I certainly wouldn't contemplate buying the demonstrator S from my local dealer that myself and numerous others before me had 'tested' today! Would be interesting to see if they kept track of it, what problems (or not) would occur through it being thrashed from day one! Very nice car though.
