Offline | I dont know if this thread is still going but I picked my Cooper S up on Saturday ![]() And its great, I have jsut come from a Civic Type R and the differences are massive. Quality is much better as are the levels of Technology and Kit. Steering is much sharper and direct with great feel, handling is pin sharp and just like a go-kart as the Brochure says (it reminds me of my old 106 GTi). Ride is firm but no where as near as crashy as the Civic. Hi-Fi stereo is good and the leather upgrade makes the seats very nice, if a little soft and unsupportive. My only gripe is the gear shift which compared to the Civic is like a truck shift! The gear knob is enourmous and the throw is massive and clunky. Overall i'll give the MCS a 9.5/10 ![]() <edited to make more sense!> Last edited by Rocco9999 : Mar 20th, 2007 at 03:37 PM. |

Offline | Does having a reg number entitle me to join? I promise to tell you about my new Red Cooper S, with white roof, and Chili pack plus some other goodies next week, I am so close to being able to join the roll call, but for now if you want to feel lucky compared to me then read on................ First ordered new MCS yonks ago, arrived with wrong spec so rejected car and re-ordered from another dealer. Finally got the call on Monday to say it had arrived. Due to trade in my much loved yellow and black Cooper tomorrow and collect new MCS. Too excited to sleep properly this week. Last night, in my office car park, HR Director hits lovely yellow Cooper and causes damage to front bumper. Admits liability. Spent this afternoon figuring out what to do with dealer about trade in.................wonderful support, after calls to insurance company and dealer talking with insurance company they decided deal was still on. Thank goodness. and roll on tomorrow morning.Drove home grinning Phone rings at home it is the dealer. Um I am really really sorry but I have hit your brand new car on a steel post getting it out of the dealer car park........you need a new door and new wing mirror! I couldn't be angry, I just had to laugh................ Please every one on Mini2 keep your fingers crossed for next Saturday for me......you have to help change my luck!! |

Offline | Now I can finally officially register on this thread.... Picked-up my MCS yesterday afternoon about two hours before the registration started for the World Record Attempt. I decided to christen my MINI "BOLTON". He (I've never been able to call a car a she... sorry! ) was waiting in the showroom for my arrival and was the only car in there as they must have started to clear the showroom for the registrations. Looked amazing when I first saw it. Laser Blue really POPS in person! The car is smashing - I drove it down to London after we all broke the record (269!! YEAH!!) and it is just a absolute dream! Here's some pics: |
