This car is very similar, in that it has 4 wheels and a steering mechanism. Otherwise, as someone who always saw a car as a place to get from point A -> B, this car is a whole other reason to own a car. This car is FUN, and if you're reading this, it's probably because you already know that. But I'm going to keep singing to the choir for a bit though. I went for a drive today... only 90 minutes, but I left and came home and inbetween, aside for a lunch stop, I was going nowhere (and doing it rather fast at some points). I plan on doing a lot more of that. It was a great time. And I'd never have enjoyed doing that in the Honda. It was a great tool, but the Mini is a recreation vehicle. A lot has been said by much better (well, at least more knowledgeable) people than I about the driving experience, so I want say a few things about the options I chose. First, there's not a one I have regrets about. The seats are comfortable and luxurious. The Hi-Fi system sounds fantastic, and it's not even broken in yet. The Aero Kit looks fantastic. I love the sunroof, and it's silent. I even like the frivolous mood lighting. I'm already hooked on the comfort access, and I was pretty ready to discount that as anything but a novelty. And keeping the brake dust off the white wheels will be a labor of love. However, without question, the SatNav is worth every penny. First, I think it looks great and makes the center column complete. Every person who has seen it has been shocked at how amazing it looks, and even more so at how it works. The directions have been great, and there is a bit of a learning curve in the setup and use of the joystick, but its well worth the time it takes. I haven't even really touched the voice control yet, but I'm sure that will help. But, in short, I love it. Once I have my iPod kit up and running, I'll post more of a review about it... If you have spec'ed it, be prepared to be very happy. I'd like to finally say that, despite the headaches of earlier in the week, this end result is worth it. It was hard to believe that all the waiting and wondering and wishing and then more waiting finally is over, and I'm driving this wonderful vehicle around. My home dealership, Downtown Mini, did wonderfully, and I thank them for making the sale a smooth delivery, and especially my MA, Larry. He has the patience of a saint and is obviously not just someone who sells Minis, but also clearly loves them, and enjoys seeing others "join the family." Thanks, Larry! I have to go back to the dealership next week to pick up the mylar sunscreen that goes in the front windshield, and to have the SatNav's software upgraded so it will see the iPod adapter. I'll post with photos and impressions of that once it's done. The black driving lamps are on backorder still... but they're paid for!! I also will be getting stratmosphere's sunroof sunscreens. They're on order now. If you have any questions, comments, or whatever, please feel free to post. I'll be out tomorrow all day, but once I get back I'm sure I'll have plenty more to comment on. If you're still waiting, hang in there. The last few weeks are probably not quite hell, but you can see it from there. Be strong. ![]() PS. Please don't quote this whole post w/photos to reply... my .Mac account's bandwidth will be used up mighty fast! '07 LiB MCSa :white/white Last edited by jmelrose : Apr 29th, 2007 at 05:01 AM. |

Offline | Thank you cco7ers and Hummer 2k1. jmelrose, I love that you chose to have pictures of Mini and Mickey. Great combination, and I just Love the Lilo antenna topper. Soo cute! What is that white thing you have plugged into your 12v socket? Is that Mini's flashlight? Also, what's the picture on your license plate that had to be sensored??!! Oh, and I would really like to hear your thoughts and pictures of the Stratoshphere sunroof screen. I was looking at that since it's just too sunny and hot in Texas. |
