Offline | caesar..... I got both parts from the guy who sells on Ebay.......who is actually the parts guy at Cotswold Gloucester BMW......01452 872669 ask for Jon. He did me a VERY good price but you are better off getting prices from him.......... The grill trims are from the JCW bodykit (2 parts required upper and lower)..........and are a VERY easy direct replacment for the standard crome trims! I asked several Mini dealer if this could be done and was told it couldnt!! But as you can see it can......and its VERY easy!! We are still deciding if to get bonnet stripes fitted......???? Ken |

Offline | Congrats Gtm-Ken, yours looks superb, and I'm happy to say I took delivery of my new one today - after a 4 month rejection marathon. YEEHAAAA ![]() ![]() ![]() The noisy diesel engine-sounding LB/W has now gone, replaced with (obviously, the best colour - I saw the error of my ways) DS/W. Due to annoying early problems with rattling sunroof and other things, I kept the spec more around driving enjoyment rather than 'peripheral' stuff, hence: DSC. LSD. JCW vented front discs (not the calipers, figure red paint is money wasted )JCW gear lever knob (REALLY recommended, brings the lever closer) JCW leather/suede steering wheel. JCW front and side - no rear 'cos I'm still undecided about the (for me anyway) 'chunky' look. R99's in anthracite (I know, not to everyone's taste, but I love 'em) Upgraded sounds. Chilli pack. Sports suspension ....and not much else. Aah, the joys of running-in all over again. And by the way, the last one had a sunroof, now that I don't have one I'm amazed how much quieter it is............. ![]() "He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River." |

Offline | Hi Benny, thanks for the compliment - the discs were £280 fitted and the pads are, as the dealer put it for the package, "full JCW brake kit" (apart from the calipers, which are no different) so.... I've never trusted a dealer yet, so I would take that as standard pads So far. I've found dealer knowledge pitiful, and when the pads are ready for changing/prove to be crap, I'll call Roland at GTT for some proper advice. I went for the discs 'cos from the feedback I've had (and my last R56), the standard ones don't seem to be able to take a damn good thrashing for long - figured 280 quid was worth the risk...... The surprise I've had so far (still being gentle of course) is the LSD - it seems superb so far (in 150 miles anyway!), and for £150 I think it's a bargain ![]() Cheers, John ![]() "He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River." |

Offline | Thanks Ollie, I'm luvin' it - feels far better put together than my last R56 (so far!) and the stereo upgrade gets the thumbs up from the kids, so must be worth it ![]() ![]() "He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River." |

Offline | brilliant silver: misnomer but brilliant!! 800 of the tortuous 1,000 mile break in complete. decided to move the 4k rev limit up to 5k for the last 200 miles - yipee! this thing is truly a fwd bmw now and that is just fine by me. sport button only when I want to let it rip - takes some forearm strength - beats lifting weights! Im 6'3" and my saleman 6'9" - lots of room, especially without the sunroof. the cargo nets are standard now and already greatly appreciated - well thought out by bmw. big ben gives the jealous folks something to rib me about - whatever (it is indeed over the top but who cares, I dont ever look at it anyway). only part of big ben I hate is that obnoxious gas gauge!! aargh. PAINT THE DAMN WHEEL ARCHES if you go the HyperSport route like I did. see images for the "before" and "after" - as to the tint - I am on a cardiac med that makes UVA/B a real nightmare - this tint is one shade past legal in NY, got a script from my doc in glovebox! piano black and coco mats seal the deal. ![]() LETS MOTOR! obc |

Offline | Good for you oldbimmercoupe, looks great........brilliant silver is (in my opinion) the best of the metallic colours. Don't forget running in means: - a) First 1200 miles not more than 100 mph or 4500 RPM, and no full throttle. b) After that gradually increase the above figures. c) Give the engine and gearbox time to warm up before pushing the throttle hard. d) It's a bit like getting a new girl friend 'play it cool' !!!!! Good luck with your new MCS. |

Offline | Just picked up our new '07 Mini Cooper S here in LA, California. It sports Sparkling Silver paint with a White top. Will be a daily driver on the 101 freeway from the San Fernando Valley out to Camarillo and back. With a little less than 1000 miles on the odometer, I am very impressed! Certainly one of the most fun-to-drive cars I have ever owned! All the Best Scott |
