Offline | My new R56 MCS I picked up my R56 MCS yesterday. My first MINI. The handover went well until the salesman offered me GAP insurance which I didn't want as it is very expensive from MINI. When I refused it he asked me to sign a form to confirm I did not want it AND that the dealer would not be liable for any loss that I suffered because I did not have it. I was amazed as I do not expect to have to refuse an oral offer in writing. And anyway I could not see why I should agree to relieve the dealer from liability for me not buying it. He could not explain the last point so I refused to sign his form. This caused one of his chums to intervene to try to get me to sign. I also asked him why I should sign and he could not give a coherent explanation of the benefit to me. ( I don't doubt that there was some benefit to the dealer) It was all a bit unpleasant as they tried to bully me. And there was a strong smell of b*ll****. Apart from that the handover was OK although, as the first one the salesman had done, he was not very knowledgeable. But I sorted it out with the Handbook when I got home. Driving impressions to follow but here are a few pics in the meantime. |

Offline | Cool car Martin Lovely looking motor Martin Congratulations. Think I can clarify the point re waiver on the gap insurance. It appears all dealerships have to prove they have offered you the range of services to meet financial regulations, even down to being offered service packages and paint protecton. Our family have had 3 new cars this year and had to sign a waiver at Mitsubishi, Honda and Alfa to stop the customer saying they had not been told about Gap insurance. Apparently plenty of people have been taking on deals and when a problem has cropped up like GAP tried to claim off the dealerships claiming they had not been told of the option. It was the first form to go through on 2 of the 3 handovers. |

Offline | When I picked up the car I took an Eva Cassidy CD to try the Hifi out. I am not a HiFi buff but like it to be clear, and loud if I want it. I thought it was good and felt glad I had specced it but probably not as good as the HK system in our 2005 Range Rover but I think that is a much more powerful system with more speakers. So I would say that it is worth the money but not an oustanding system. |

Offline | Its the standard chequered dash. One of the reasons I took the interior photo was to try to show it but its not very clear. I am very pleased with the dash. It is not to bright which was my worry with the Brushed Alloy although I have yet to actually see one to compare. |

Offline | Sure about that? because my dealer told me that the clear indicators isīt available before december production. And that doesīt really look like bulbs, to big I think. So Martin is it only orange bulbs or is it orange lenses? Nice car anyway, congrats! ![]() |

Offline | Just been out to the garage to take a careful look. I can confirm the lenses are clear, the bulb is orange and what the photo shows is the orange bulb in the silver reflector |
