Offline | Wierd Auto 0-60mph performance figures?!?!? Mini advertise the Auto MCS to be only 0.2 seconds slower to 62mph than the manual, but they advertise the cooper auto to be 1.3 seconds slower to 62 than the manual. Surely that can't be right, i thought they both use the same auto gearbox??? pretty happy if the auto S is only 0.2 sec slower as i am awaiting mine ![]() |

| Open Door..Step Out..Easy | Haven't you already asked this question? ![]() Obviously it is right, otherwise they wouldn't have published the figures. These figures are an improvement on the 1st Generation, where the differences between Manual and Automatic were 1.3 seconds for the Cooper and 0.5 seconds for the Cooper S |

Offline | Thanks for asking that question Dazmac13. Knowing the different times between the R53 manual and auto puts the differences between the R56 manual and auto into perspective. And thank you Scrogg for your answer. Now I know more than I did. |

Offline | Dazmac, Can't be bothered trawling the posts, but when are you due to get yours? Would be interested in a decent review once you do. Cheers. Mike. Z4 3.0 (R56 JCW on order though!) |

Offline | And in the real world, unless the manual driver does a Grand Prix start and doesn't fluff the gear change to second, the auto could actually be quicker to 60mph in the MCS. ![]() Rainbow Dreamer 2005 Cooper S Convertible |

Offline | In general, the lower the power, the bigger the peformance difference. Some very low powered economy cars used to only be available with a manual gearbox because an automatic dropped their performace to an unacceptable level. Robert Stancliff Sr. |
