Offline | Who are the Cheapest ? I need to get the following 2 Dealer fit options on my car when i get it in a few weeks. Does anyone know who the cheapest dealer would be as the price varies by hundreds of pounds. 1) Chrome Front driving lamps 2) Ipod Interface. It would be a lot easier if these were fitted by the factory, at least then everyone would be quoted the same price. |

Offline | But then the dealer wouldn't be able to stitch us up ... Where's the fun in that ? I paid £300 for the driving lamps, and £323 for the Ipod connector. Southend, Essex. That was after shopping around, and beating them up with other dealers quotes. Both worthwhile options though - The lamps look the nads and the Ipod looks and sound's great with the Nav screen and the HiFi upgrade. ![]() |

Offline | I can't provide a cost for the driving lamps but I had an IPod kit fitted to my R56 MCS last week for £261 all in. I know that the R56 Ipod kit costs about £85 more than the previous kit. The MINI accessory guide lists the R56 kit at £195 and the old kit at £110. My kit was fitted at Mini Fawdingtons Newcastle Upon Tyne. It actually only cost me £11 due the compensation I received from BMW for the delivery delay on my MCS. |

Offline | I asked a dealer in Bedford !!!!!!! Reply was that the lamps are not yet available for the MCS and the Ipod Interface is £198 + 2.5 hours fitting at a labour rate of £130 and hour plus Vat I would have felt better if they had just told me to bog off. |

Offline | Popey - I was quoted £ 290 for the iPod Interface by Woodmans. On their website it states £180 fitted but on querying this they stated that that was for the previous model's. I was a bit miffed as I understood that the R53 version was called the iPod Link? Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Offline | Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think everyone that has paid sub £200 for the ipod interface ordered it at the time they placed their R56 order. I think the dealers are getting wise to how long it takes to fit, compared to the old ipod link. Why would any dealers fitted price be less than the £195 RRP of the part itself! Even if the dealer only charges 1 hour labour, this would take the price to over £300! After being quoted £546, there are obviously dealers who feel like they can take the p*** too! I paid £323 fitted and although expensive, It is really good. The sound quality through the HiFi upgrade is fantastic. ![]() |

Offline | Anyone with any new prices. I contacted my 'old' supplying dealer and they have restored my faith in nice people I will contact them nearer the time but they say that they will do me a great deal - as before on my original order. Watch this space (6 weeks to delivery) ![]() |
