| MINI2 Regular | New member speccing Cooper S Hi Guys and gals, Great forum with lots of excellent info that I have been trawling through before posting this. I'm on the verge of putting a deposit down on a Mini Cooper S but just wanted to check with you all that I am speccing correctly and just wanted to ask a few questions as well. So here goes. Astro Black Rooster Red Viper Stripes (I think this makes the car look really mean) JCW Aero kit (with black and red viper stripes this will look really tough IMHO) Chilli Pack Cloth/Leather (Rooster Red to match viper stripes) Flame spoke alloy wheels (£70 option with chilli pack) Auto Climate Control (£230 with chilli pack) Visibility Pack Hi Fi Speaker System DAB Radio Bluetooth Phone Kit TLC pack Possible other options I could spec: I was thinking of the following: Piano Black Trim: thing is I may go for the JCW carbon trim depending on cost Chrome Interior Line: is this worth it? Especially considering I may go JCW interior Comfort Access: does anyone find this particularly useful and is it worth £350 Heated Seats: If I have cloth/leather, not sure if I need these. And some final questions: Can I get the Alcantara JCW steering wheel if I go for the MFSW How does bluetooth work? Is their a cradle? Does it transfer phonebook? How does the Ipod kit work? Does it come with full tracks on the dash etc.? Am thinking of Alcantara/Carbon JCW gearshift, handbrake, gear gaiter, does anyone know these costs? Sorry for bombarding with all the questions but am very excited about this. Thanks for any help, Anis |

| Drive it like u Stole it | Hi i am also quite new to mini2 but have just ordered my cooper s and have been looking at most of these options. i'll try and answer a few of you questions. I have speced chrome line interior as i perfer it to the silver trim you get normally and with a black car i think this will go better. Comfort access i personally dont think is worth £350 there are much better things to spend the money on. The heated seats a really nice but if you dont have full leather then you seats wont really get that cold. The bluetooth is mounted in the arm rest and there are different cradles you can get to fit your phone im not sure about the phone book thing. the Ipod kit is a waste of money for you as you dont have sat nav so the song names wont appear and all it will do is charge the ipod the r56 comes with an aux in and that will do the same as the ipod kit but wont charge it. as for the other stuff i have no idea about prices i hope this helps you a bit |

Offline | Not strictly true mate. The ipod functionality through the new interface is identical whether you have NAV or not, and is far better that the AUX connection. See some of the other ipod related threads on here. |

Offline | I always have heated seats, can't live without them in the winter and i have also specced the half leather. Have also specced the piano black and chrome line interior. The chromline is needed if you spec the piano line as they both complement each other very well makes the interior look very classy |

Offline | I almost specced the comfort access and now i wish i had. It,s quite fiddly getting the key in it's slot sometimes and how cool is a car you just walk up to open the door and press go. The only thing I thought might be a down side is forgetting your keys becauseyour not used to using them. |

| TYPE R GT VTEC POWERED | welcome to the cyber mini madness the spec you have looks good but where do you draw the line that is a quetion for your pocket speccing is the hard part fallowed by the wait for delivery comfort access is a pricey option but if you press the button on the fob it does the same job ,you cant get a jcw mfsw so save your cash on that, the blue tooth is in the arm rest so your phone will be in there |

| MINI2 Regular | I definitely want to add some JCW bits so what I may do is not spec Piano Black or Chrome Line Interior and go for carbon interior, gearknob, steering wheel, handbrake etc. from JCW. That will look very mean. Also means, when the JCW tuning kit eventually comes out the car is ready for the action. |

| MINI2 Regular | This Mini speccing is a real headache because there are so many damn options. I am now changing my mind about the colour. I definitely want Viper stripes. So I either go Pepper White, black vipers and two tone black and white cloth/leather with piano black trim. Or Chilli Red, black vipers and black/rooster red with piano black. Or back to my original option, astro black, red vipers, black/rooster red interior with piano black. Am also now thinking whether I should go for Sat Nav and heated seats. Any opinions on Sat Nav? I wouldn't use the Nav particularly often but do like the screen with the OBC functionality and I guess the functionality with the DAB radio. Still maybe thinking of ditching all the nav stuff and chrome line interior, piano black etc. and going full JCW bits in the interior. Man, I am totally confusing myself here. |

Offline | I would consider getting the limited slip diff to reduce wheel spin and torque steer (Which i have experienced already and only owned my s for 3 days!). It is only around £100 so small change compared to some of your options |

Offline | Don't mean to put a damper on things, but the JCW kit will not be an option on the R56, like it is on the R53 MCS. You either have an R56 MCS now or have to wait 12 -24 months for when they launch the JCW R56. Thats as I understand the situation anyway. |
