I thought I'd add the following to this thread because the point is so delightfully made.
I stumbled across an article entitled Automatic or manual – father knew best in which the penultimate sentence is:

True race drivers save it for the track, and a 4X4 is no guarantee of safety if the person driving it has a 2X4 for a brain.

Haha, that is such a nice quote. And it's so true. Here, I have huge pickups and SUVs swerving in between cars even though there isn't any room. I wish it would go back to just cars and the occasional minivans.

My MINI convertible rolled almost 2 complete times with the top down and neither my passenger nor I were hurt... mild concussions is all.... there is a thread somewhere on the Convertible forum about it. It still amazes me how well that car held up.
