I went on the Factory visit today and it was absolutely fantastic and as everyone says, its a must do for any Mini enthusiast.

On Thursday i received a print out on my MCS (week 7 build) which showed that at lunchtime on Thursday it 'Bodyshop Complete'.
I really was doubly excited as i thought that i was going to see my car..........

Once we got to the Assembley part of the plant, one of our very helpful guides took my order form and went to track down my car armed with the chassis number. He came back a few mins later and said, sorry but its left the Factory and is now on route to the dealer.

This just goes to show that there is an extremely fast turnaround and in fact only takes 24 hours to complete the build of a car from individual body panels.

All in all a fantastic day even if it was tinged with a bit of dissapointment at 'missing' my car. But look on the brightside, i will be driving it in a couple of weeks.

Exactly.

Funny thing was that when you looked down the production line, there were definately more Red cars than anything else.
Lots of Mellow Yellow too, all destined for the USA apparently.
