Offline | Sparkling Silver Roll Call Since they have started one on Laser Blue, so err... might as well right? I reckon the photos don't do Sparkling Silver enough justice!! A lot of people would agree that Sparkling Silver shows it's true colours under the sun in the flesh |

Offline | totally agree with you, Under sun, sparkling silver looks really nice and subtil. > first, the colour looks like a mix of champagne(metallic)+desert color (not green at all !) > second, the vernish seems to be really present, with sharping reflects, (on most pictures, the body seems to be "flat" or "mat") in my opinion, a sparkling silver sidewalk will be an exceptionnal version ... |

Offline | Sparkling silver just doesn't photograph well. Even the pictures here, while nice, really don't do justice to it. When I first saw pictures of sparkling silver, my thoughts were it was a brownish silver, and very, very ugly. Then I saw it in person, under bright lights--and now it might be my favorite color. It really looks fantastic, especially with a black roof. I have a DS/W MCS, and the Sparkling Silver reacts the same way--a little blah when its overcast, but at night under light, or in bright sunlight, its fantastic! If I was in the market for an R56, I'd go sparkling silver/black--especially with the rumor that it might me available only for this year. |

Offline | Slightly off topic here.. but it's true SS which is more less the same as Merc's Indium Grey is so easy to keep clean We've got a Black ML500 and a Idium Grey CLS... The ML won't last a week in Melbourne's weather but the CLS will last at least a month I mean this is a good thing for me as I'm a uni student... I don't always have time to clean my future SS MCS |

Offline | I went to my dealer in Crewe with the full intention of ordering a Chilli Red with Black MCS. As i arrived I saw the SS/B demonstrator in the car park with red Lea Lounge, sat nav the works. I collect it on Thursday 8th of March!!!!! I cant wait. I also saved 3.5K on the list price what with all the extras and the pain of running in has been done. I can give it a damn good thrashing straight away : ) |

Offline | I know what you mean Dave, I was a tad heavy footed on the test drive as I'm sure the majority of people are. I think modern engines these days can handle it though. 'Running in' was something Ford recommended on a model T because tolerances etc were not enfineered quite so exactly and repetitively. Anyhow, I got a warranty, can't wait til Thursday!!! |
