Offline | mountain bike in a mini? erm yes, as the title says, would i be able to fit a mountain bike in a mini!!! Failing that, how does the official mini rear carrier fit onto the car? i'm not a huge fan of the ones that use straps and rubber feet (i always assume they'll cause scratches or fall off!), and i read somewhere something about a mini one that fits into a special mounting bracket which is installed on the car, but not really visible. (sport link or something i think it was called, but that was on a US site) Now i know the most sensible option will be to take my bike to the dealer and try it in a demonstrator, but i wont be able to do that for a couple of weeks as i've got zero free time at the moment, so just thougt i would ask the fountain of knowledge that is this site!!! |

Offline | I managed to fit two bikes and all the gear for a weekend away camping and mountain biking in the back. My GF at the time had to move her seat forward a couple of clicks, but that was just ot make it a little easier to get everything in. The internal panels do scratch and mark, but you will get that with any car. I tend to cover things up with some old sheets and towls I have. also helps when whiping big muddy dollops off the bikes before putting them back in. I hate external racks. I looked at Halfords, but it didnt look like any of the standard rear mounted ones would fit the back of the MCS. I also didnt fancy leaving over £2ks worth of bike outside. |

| Steeve | We see a couple of guys turn up to club rides in a mini, two men two bikes and their kit seems to go in. I've seen in brochures that there is a rear carrier that goes across the back, yet to see one in the flesh. Have you seen the other roof mounted one, where they drill four holes in your roof? Who on earth would do that? |
